In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Clients can expect the first therapy appointment to be a foundation-building session that focuses on understanding their needs, building rapport, and creating a roadmap for future work.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Drawing from my over 30 years of experience in Child Welfare, I am equipped to compassionately address, support, and educate women confronting crises related to child abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Based on my work, I’ve developed a profound affinity for aiding those who have endured such traumatic circumstances. I also consistently find success in assisting women dealing with issues of anxiety, depression, shame, life transitions, relationships, intimate partner violence, self-esteem, boundaries, parenting, and managing grief and loss. The wealth of life experiences and professional insights I bring to my role, propel my unwavering dedication to this vocation. Guided by the capacity to effect positive change, I offer hope and healing for the personal growth of my clients.

I chose Sylvia from an extensive list of providers, initially because she is a woman of color, around my own age. I found that we have a lot in common. I appreciate that she always is learning and sharing resources, articles, videos and individuals with different approaches for "reclaiming wellness". She personalizes and tailors her suggestions to what helps me right now. It's not a "one size fits all". And fundamentally she is very kind and warm.
