New to Grow
Hello! Thank you for being here. Reaching out for therapy is incredibly brave but can also be a bit overwhelming. I’m hoping I can help you see your strength and worth while we navigate all the things life throws our way. I’m Kathy and I have been a social worker for 23 years now. I have been a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker for the last 16 years of that time. For the majority of my profession, I have been working in the hospital setting, helping patients find solutions to a wide range of needs. I have seen patients struggle in many different ways in life and helping them has also helped me grow as a social worker. I am passionate about helping people realize they are capable of more than they think. Everyone deserves to see their worth and I would love to work with you to help you see yours.
My practice space is a safe space for you. My goal is for you to feel supported and please know there is no judging here. I want you to feel completely free to express your thoughts without worry. When you leave a session with me, my hope is that you feel comforted and at peace.
My approach to therapy is centered around you. This will be about your goals and we will go at your pace. I believe the best way to start healing is when you feel safe. I hope to provide that safe space for you and guide you through the process.
I prefer to partner with adults and seniors who are navigating some of life's most challenging chapters. Whether you are drowning in the heavy fog of grief after losing a loved one, feeling overwhelmed by a new health diagnosis or disability, trying to manage constant stress, mend strained family relationships, make sense of a late-in-life ADHD diagnosis or are facing end-of-life issues, I am here to offer a gentle and supportive space so you do not have to carry this alone.
Sometimes our minds can get trapped in painful, looping thoughts. I use a compassionate form of CBT to help gently examine those thoughts. We will look at how your thoughts are impacting your emotion and physical well-being, and hopefully find realistic ways to bring comfort and peace back into your days.
I use SFBT to help you get unstuck and look forward instead of rehashing the details of the problem. We will focus on what is working, figure out your goals and design realistic, manageable steps to reach them.
We will work together to sort through heavy emotions and find realistic solutions. I will be a supportive guide, objective and compassionate listener, and provide a judgement-free zone to process daily life and hardships.
