As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I believe healing happens when clinical skill and biblical truth work hand in hand. I integrate Scripture and prayer with evidence-based methods to help individuals and couples find lasting change, not just symptom relief. I work with adults 21 and older, individuals and couples, who want a therapist who won't ask them to leave their faith at the door. Whether you're navigating a marriage in crisis, grieving a loss, learning to live well with ADHD or autism, or carrying the weight of trauma, we'll walk that road together - grounded in the truth that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:14) and that healing is part of God's redemptive work in us. Areas of Focus Couples & Marriage — Gottman Method-informed work on communication, conflict, and intimacy Trauma-Informed Care — processing pain with both clinical rigor and biblical hope Grief & Loss — walking through mourning toward restoration ADHD & Autism — neurodiversity-affirming support for individuals and families Anxiety & Depression — addressing the mind, body, and spirit together Life Transitions — finding clarity and purpose in seasons of change My Approach I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, and trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming frameworks —always through a biblical lens. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust God rather than lean only on our own understanding, and I hold that as a guide for our work together: we bring the clinical tools, and we trust God with the outcome. Sessions may include Scripture, prayer, or biblical reflection when welcomed, but the goal is always the same — helping you move toward wholeness in Christ and in your relationships. If you’re looking for a therapist who takes both your mental health and your faith seriously, I look forward to supporting you.
I will have read what you wrote in your intake paperwork and assessments BEFORE the session, so that we can be moving along already in the assessment/course of care planning stage. I will be with you in whatever you bring to session, you do not need to 'mask'. We will get to know each other, explore some of your immediate experiences, and talk about way forward as much as you are able. I realize that the way forward may be hazy at best since you are coming to this therapy space; however, there will be just a bit more clarity for you at the end of that session, I promise. You are using your bravest, possibly your most desperate, or explorative self to come into this sacred space of healing. I commend you and honor that!
I am a cancer survivor and a divorce survivor and God has used these tragedies to bring me to more understanding about how complete surrender to Jesus, including using tools like therapy, spiritual mentors and coaches, physicians, body movement and nurture, support/growth groups such as Celebrate Recovery and Grief Share, a community that functions more like 'your tribe', and daily/weekly rhythms of spiritual practice and drawing close to God combine for total well-being and wholeness. I am compassionate and intuitive, able to see patterns under the surface that you may not be aware of yet. We will share in this walk toward wholeness together, and I will maintain a balance between gentle accountability and present encouragement that works for your brain and nervous system.
I can best assist someone who is ready to look at their existing patterns of systemic hurts, habits, or hang-ups without blaming others or themselves. They are ready to consider or contemplate new ways of interacting with God, themselves, and the people around them in order to live life to the fullest and fulfill their purpose. That person, couple, or family is willing to re-work their communication and interaction patterns in order to glorify the Creator and accept His gift of an abundant and eternal life.
I offer counseling that comes from both my clinical training/experience, and Christian faith. For clients who welcome it, we can explore how scripture, prayer, and spiritual meaning-making fits into the therapeutic work - always at a pace and depth you're comfortable with.
My work is grounded in attachment theory - the belief that our earliest relationships shape how safe and connected we feel with others - held alongside my Christian faith, which points to relationship, first with God and then each other, as the ground of healing. In session, I offer a steady, attuned presence that becomes part of that healing itself.
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy in my practice as appropriate - focusing on uncovering strengths, what's already working, and where you want to go. This pairs naturally with my faith-infused lens: that HOPE is not wishful thinking, but a grounded expectation that change is possible and probable.
My practice is trauma-informed, meaning I prioritize physical and emotional safety, transparency, and your sense of choice and control throughout our work together. I move at a pace that respects your nervous system rather than pushing toward disclosure before you're ready. This looks like holding space for your experiences with a non-anxious presence - trusting that healing unfolds in its time, not on a forced timeline.
I bring a Gottman Method-informed approach to couples work - focusing on building friendship, managing conflict constructively, and creating shared meaning between partners. We'll look at patterns like the 'Four Horsemen' that erode connection and work to replace them with repair and turning toward one another. This reflects a view of marriage as a relationship worth tending with real skill, not just good intentions.
