First off, thank you for your interest and vulnerability in seeking therapy…It is never easy. I am sure you are looking for someone who can provide understanding, clarity and probably ways to feel better. I have been in the field of social work for 8 years and providing therapy for the past 4 years. I have experience with treating moderate to severe diagnosis of all ages. I find that the most important aspect of therapy beyond gaining skills to manage stressors and life struggles, is nurturing the relationship we have with ourselves. You can expect a safe space that is oriented towards your individual needs. I am not here to judge or place blame however come from a perspective that can empower and assist with increasing your self-awareness.
Within my years of clinical experience, I have been trained is various clinical techniques including CBT, DBT, trauma focused, Gestalt, narrative and art therapies, etc, . I do not shy away from other holistic measures of healing. As a therapist, I believe in meeting you were you are at and using methods that are catered and centered on your needs. With saying that, I believe you are the expert and me as a piece in supporting your journey. I would first like to see where you would like assistance and begin to build a trusting relationship. My core beliefs are grounded on instilling and building a relationship with my clients as my first intervention.
Most of us seek therapy due to current struggles that may manifest in mental health symptoms(anxiety, depression etc.). My work includes looking at these symptoms but exploring its roots with answering big questions "why do I exist, what is my purpose, why do I think this way". How we experience the world is very depended on how we think/perceive our reality... thus alot of my work is targeted towards challenging thought processes and developing a life worth living.
I believe my strengths are my ability to empathize and listen which offer a genuine connection; that through healing relationships can we find a deeper connection to life. No matter where you are in your life and no matter what your experiences have been up to now, we all have the capacity to heal, change and grow.
