Hi, I am Julia, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes that mental health care should feel safe, supportive, and truly personal. I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults, helping each person feel heard and understood. My approach blends medication management with compassionate, collaborative therapy so that we can find what works best for you. I'm passionate about helping people navigate life's challenges, build confidence, and feel empowered in their healing journey.
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and start building a plan that feels right for you. I'll guide you through a thoughtful psychiatric evaluation using a conversational style called motivational interviewing, which helps me understand your goals, strengths, and challenges. We'll talk through your history, current concerns, and what's most important to you right now. By the end of the session, I am to give you at least one clear next step or recommendation-whether that's a diagnosis, a treatment option, or a strategy to help you start feeling better.
My greatest strengths are creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable opening up and being themselves. I'm skilled at listening deeply, asking thoughtful questions, and helping people feel understood-even if they're unsure where to start. I combine a calm, compassionate presence with clinical expertise to provide clear guidance and practical next steps. Clients often tell me they appreciate how approachable I am, my ability to explain things clearly, and the way I work collaboratively to find solutions that fit their needs.
I work best with people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start-even if it feels scary. The firs step is simply making the appointment and showing up; it's completely okay if you don't know what to say or exactly what's been going on. I see children, teens, and adults who want to feel heard, supported, and empowered as they work through anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, or life transitions. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can share openly, explore what matters most to you, and build confidence was you move towards healing.
I have extensive experience using MI with individuals managing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and life changes. I focus on building trust and rapport, using reflective listening an down-ended questions to help patients identify their own reasons for change. This method works particularly well for clients who may feel hesitant about starting medication, trying new coping techniques, or making health-related changes. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where patients feel understood, capable, and motivated to take steps that align with their personal values.
