Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I received my Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology at Mount Saint Mary’s University and have been practicing for over 8 years. I help adults struggling with anxiety and life transitions face their history and get to the root of their life experiences so that they can connect back to themselves and become who they really are.
Our first session will consist of gathering background information as to why you are seeking support as well as your history including upbringing and life phases. This way, we can build a clinical picture to better understand your life and why things may be challenging today. Even so, I get it, we’re strangers, so I don’t expect you to spill your guts right away. A lot of this information may reveal itself over time once we’ve established safety and support in the therapeutic relationship.
I come into the therapy session as a human. I am trained and have expertise in the field, but I am not the expert of you. You are. I am here to help support you in strengthening that connection back to yourself. My goal is that you won’t need me or anything/one else more than you need yourself. You have the answers you seek. I help shine a light on that and help you make sense of your history and get to the root of the issues you’re facing so you can feel safe connecting back to yourself. From here, the possibilities are endless. I may gently push you to start feeling the uncomfortable things that we want to naturally keep at bay, but I will always do so with great attention and care while respecting your boundaries.
I best serve people who are ready to unearth the uncomfortable. Who have felt stuck and just need the tools and a safe space to connect back to themselves. Those who have a desire to intentionally sit with the things that are sticky, so that it can stop ruling your life and you can take the reins. This work is hard. If you’re ready to face it in a safe way, I’m the person for you.
I draw in from various orientations to help support clients. My lense starts from a psychodynamic viewpoint and I use strategies from somatic therapy, parts work, mindfulness and more to assist clients in reaching their goals.
