Kirsti Kreutzer
My name is Kirsti and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Athens, Ga. I am the program director at a recovery center from 6am until 1pm and doing private practice in the afternoon. I spent my twenties working in film and television, then spent my thirties working as a birth activist and midwifery advocate.
I spent my twenties working in film and television, then spent my thirties working as a birth activist and midwifery advocate.
A dear friend suggested that I return to school to get my MSW because she said I was already doing social work and I may as well get paid to do it! My experience has taught me to be client centered and to help folks reframe the way they look at their lives and tell their stories. I enjoy witnessing clients as they reconnect with their own power and sense of agency.
First session
We will begin to unpack the story of how you got here and start to speculate about what direction you might want to begin moving in as we work together.
Strengths
My greatest strengths are my ability to listen with an open heart and be as honest as possible about where you may be lying to yourself or blind to a painful truth.
Ideal clients
I love working with clients in transition through all of life’s stages and changes, as they let go of who they once were and become more truly aligned with their purpose and power. I have lots of experience working with Neurodivergent folks, the LGBTQ+ community, birthing people, and anyone transitioning from maiden to mother to crone.
Treatment methods
Strength-Based
This was the primary modality taught in my Master’s program and I love it! We will explore your strengths and recall your times when you felt strong and sure of yourself, then we will focus on creating more of that in your life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
This is the second modality we learned in my program and I love it because it helps us to remember how important our thoughts are in creating our reality. When we become aware of the thoughts that automatically pop into our heads in any given situation we can begin to question if they are true and become curious about where they came from.
