My name is Amanda Pearman, pronouns she/her/ella. I am Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of California. I received a Master's of Science in Multicultural Community Counseling from San Diego State University in 2016. I truly enjoy what I get to do and I am passionate about helping individuals heal and feel joy. I have experience working with children, parents, adults and couples. In my work with individuals, I do my best to work collaboratively and attune to needs and boundaries, so that each individual can make decisions grounded in their values/beliefs. In my work with children, I take a child-centered approach, using modalities such as play or talk therapy to help the child express their feelings and experiences that are often difficult to put into words.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My primary goal is to collaboratively help you reach your goals. I want you to feel like you have agency in what your treatment looks like and that you feel empowered to improve your quality of life.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I draw from a variety of treatment methods including person-centered, EMDR, family systems and cognitive behavior therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I often explore the following topics in therapy: cognitive distortions, domains of wellness, existential issues, healthy communication, appropriate boundaries, and identifying values.
