About me

Hi, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in behavioral health. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship concerns, life transitions, and self-esteem challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical, drawing from CBT, DBT, ACT, and motivational interviewing to help those I work with to gain insight, develop effective coping strategies, and create meaningful change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

After our first session, I want you to leave feeling heard, understood, and a little more hopeful than when you walked in. My goal is for you to feel comfortable being yourself, without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. I also want you to have a sense that we are a team—that together we can identify what is getting in the way, build on your strengths, and create a path toward the changes you want to make.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

The strengths I bring to my work include an empathetic, kind, and supportive approach. I strongly believe in working from a strengths-based perspective and helping you recognize and build upon the strengths you already possess. I also value humor as an important part of the therapeutic process—therapy can be meaningful and challenging while still allowing space for laughter and connection. Above all, I work to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who may appear capable and put-together on the outside but is struggling internally with anxiety, self-doubt, relationship challenges, grief, life transitions, or feeling overwhelmed by the expectations placed on them. They may be used to taking care of everyone else, overthinking situations, or holding themselves to incredibly high standards while having difficulty extending that same compassion to themselves. I especially enjoy working with clients who are ready to better understand themselves, recognize their strengths, and make meaningful changes in their lives. You don’t have to have everything figured out—you simply need to be willing to show up and be curious about yourself. Together, we can work toward greater confidence, healthier relationships, stronger boundaries, and a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions rather than feeling like they have to fight, avoid, or eliminate them. ACT can be especially helpful when working through anxiety, self-doubt, life transitions, relationship challenges, and feeling stuck. My goal is to help you build greater self-awareness and flexibility so that difficult emotions don’t have to prevent you from moving toward the life you want.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we identify thought patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, self-doubt, or feeling stuck and work to develop more balanced and helpful ways of thinking. I also incorporate practical coping strategies that you can use outside of therapy to manage difficult emotions and respond differently to challenging situations. My goal is to help you gain greater awareness of the patterns that may be holding you back while building skills that support meaningful and lasting change.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop practical skills for managing difficult emotions, navigating relationships, and responding to stressful situations in healthier ways. DBT focuses on finding a balance between accepting yourself where you are and making changes that can improve your quality of life. I incorporate skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and effective communication based on your individual needs. My goal is to help you feel more confident managing your emotions, setting healthy boundaries, and handling life’s challenges without feeling overwhelmed by them.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients explore areas where they may feel stuck, uncertain, or conflicted about making a change. I work collaboratively with you to better understand what matters to you, identify your own reasons for change, and build confidence in your ability to move forward. MI recognizes that change is a process and that feeling unsure or ambivalent is a normal part of that process. My role is to support you in finding a path forward that feels realistic, meaningful, and true to you.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use mindfulness-based approaches to help clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, and physical responses without immediately judging or reacting to them. Mindfulness can help you slow down, stay connected to the present moment, and recognize patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, stress, or feeling overwhelmed. Together, we explore practical ways to incorporate mindfulness into everyday life, whether through breathing techniques, grounding exercises, or simply learning to pause before responding.
