New to Grow
I have worked as a therapist since 2020 and have been in the Mental Health field in other positions since 2017. My style of therapy is to incorporate therapeutic techniques in a way that feels like we are having a genuine conversation, so it doesn't just feel like you getting lectured with a bunch of therapy lingo. I want my client's to feel confident to apply things they learn in a way that fits into the real world. Therapy shouldn't be a forever thing - it's a chapter of your life where you learn the tools to help you process what you need to and get moving again. Hopefully I can be a part of that journey for you!
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is a get to know each other session. I don't expect you to share your deepest, darkest concerns with someone you just met and know nothing about - take that pressure off yourself. I'll ask questions to get an understanding of your background history and goals, and give you the chance to ask me questions as well.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Past and current clients have told me I make therapy fun, even when we are working on hard content. I never want someone leaving a session with me feeling worse than when they came in - no matter what we are working on for the day we will find a way to relieve some of the pressure.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
If you are motivated to engage in tougher discussions, are realistic about your goals, honest about what you need help with, and are willing to learn with me, we will get along just fine
Eclectic
I use a wide variety of therapeutic modalities to provide a uniquely-tailored therapy experience. I have been trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR, Sexual Attitude Reassessment, Dialectical-Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Kessler Grief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing
