In our first session together, here's what you can expect

All paperwork, especially the intake and safety contract must be completed prior to the first session. Clients can expect to meet with a very compassionate, warm, and welcoming professional eager to listen to their most pressing concerns without judgment. Furthermore, I will also ask questions related to your mental health to gain further clarity and assess for strengths, weaknesses, and blind spots. We will also identify goals which will be utilized as key markers to help us remain focused, and celebrate your psychological, professional, and personal victories.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

In a world of transactional relationships and dynamics, my clients have continuously praised my commitment to remaining constant, consistent, and responsive during our therapeutic alliance. They have all agreed that it is my unwavering empathy, compassion, attentiveness, and ability to relate to them in a non-judgmental capacity that they enjoy most during our time together. Moreover, clients have repeatedly noticed that the space that we create together is unlike any other dynamic that they've experienced in their lives. Clients comment on how they feel heard, seen, validated, and even encouraged after each session. Likewise, they have emphasized that no matter what they disclose, they do not feel judged, condemned, or criticized. Because of this, clients have identified that our therapeutic alliance plays a major role in helping them to feel safe and secure enough to begin making hard decisions; some of which they admit, they have avoided making throughout their lives. Moreover, clients have acknowledged that the decisions they make during and even after counseling are authentic and genuine to where they are in life and who they dream to become. With that being said, clients also notice a newfound confidence from which they are frequently able to manifest very real and tangible rewards in their lives--both immediate and long term.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My clients come from all walks of life including imprisonment. Nevertheless, they usually enter therapy at some of the hardest, painful and most difficult points in their lives. While they may experience some apprehension and ambivalence, they all come willing and ready to work. They also make counseling a weekly practice and demonstrate the commitment and motivation necessary to grow and change their lives both in and outside of counseling. While new ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving may feel foreign to them, they make these changes out of a sustained hope that tomorrow will be better because of the work that they put in today.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I use a myriad of treatment modalities which help to not only provide the client with resolution, but also decreases the client's likelihood of becoming stuck.

Attachment-based

Everything starts with your childhood, therefore we will examine how the bond with your parents has impacted your romantic and social relationships w/others. Do you often find yourself in relationships where you are cheated on, the pursuer, or feel anxious or avoidant? Your attachment style will have everything to do with the dynamics between yourself and others.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Every person has a foundational dysfunctional thought from which they operate and interact with others. It is "I am inadequate," "I am unlovable," or "I am inadequate and unlovable." Which one are you?

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Discover the beauty and support that comes with building a healthy therapeutic alliance, which can encourage you to feel safe to confront daunting issues, practice new behaviors, and provide a corrective emotional experience that will help you blossom into a happier person.
