Hello and welcome! My name is Joel Bovey and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker here on Grow Therapy. You have taken the first and most important step by reaching out for help. I know it’s not easy and often times brings up a lot of anxiety and fears. I’m here to support you along the way. I offer a safe space to open up and unpack all those difficult life experiences and help you put them back together in a more complete perfect imperfection.
However, some of my specialties are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy in my practice.

First session
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions to break the ice and get to know eachother on a surface level. We will then move towards diving deeper into the specific challenges which have brought you to seeking therapy and identify treatment goals. I will conduct a biopsychosocial assessment which will help me create a tailored plan to meet your needs, as every individual is different and comes to therapy with a unique framework in which they use to interact with the world around them.
Strengths
I have a wealth of knowledge and experience working with teens, transitional aged youth, and adults with trauma, depression, anxiety, co-occurring substance use, life transitions, career, self-esteem, and many other mental health issues . I have worked in dual-diagnosis treatment facilities, school settings, crisis residential programs, mobile crisis response teams, doing mental health eligibility assessments, with homeless and older adult populations and many more.
