Hi there! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor working with adults in the city of San Antonio and surrounding Texas communities. I am drawn to the work of therapy because I believe it is in the context of relationships that we come to know the many parts of ourselves, and can encounter opportunities for profound growth and healing. I understand therapy to be a process of joint exploration into the rich worlds both within and around us, and consider it a great privilege to think deeply with others about what matters most in their lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Initiating therapy can be both exciting and anxiety provoking. Generally, our first 1-2 sessions will be spent getting to know each other, so that I can better understand your primary concerns and what you’re hoping to get out of a therapy relationship. Your choice of a therapist is an important one, and I’m committed to helping you determine whether we might be a good fit.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have been fortunate to have clinical training in diverse treatment settings, as well as formal instruction and supervision in a number of different therapeutic models. My clients, mentors, and colleagues say they most appreciate the warmth, compassion, and capacity for deep listening that I bring to my work.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

Our inner worlds are rich and complex, and therapy offers a unique opportunity to explore them. In sessions I aim to not only help clients make sense of their current behaviors and emotional patterns, but to better understand the early experiences and learnings that may have shaped them. This process often opens possibilities for valuable insight, and the flexibility to try out new ways of relating to ourselves, others, and the wider world.

Relational

I believe that the most powerful healing often occurs in the context of relationships. The therapy relationship itself can help us to understand how we've historically learned to relate to others in our lives, as well as be an important source of support and encouragement.

Eclectic

No two therapy processes are identical, and I'm committed to collaborating with my clients to determine an approach that's most helpful to them. My work tends to draw from many different therapy models in hopes of finding an approach that's both flexible and holistic.
