Nicole Duncan
I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes mental health care should feel collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I work with adults facing concerns such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and other mental health challenges. My approach combines evidence-based treatment with genuine listening, helping you feel heard, understood, and actively involved in your care.
First session
Your first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you as a whole person, not simply a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. We will discuss your current concerns, relevant history, treatment experiences, goals, and what you hope to achieve. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard and respected, with a clearer understanding of your concerns and the next steps in your care.
Strengths
I bring a calm, compassionate, and straightforward approach to each session. I take time to listen and understand what you are experiencing rather than making assumptions or rushing through your concerns. I value open communication and believe treatment works best when we work together. I will support you, provide honest guidance, and help you make informed decisions about your mental health care.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is an adult who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, mood changes, stress, life transitions, or other mental health concerns that are affecting daily life and overall well-being. I enjoy working with individuals who want to better understand what they are experiencing and take an active role in their care. Together, we can identify concerns, explore treatment options, and develop a realistic plan that supports greater stability, functioning, and quality of life.
Treatment methods
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational interviewing to create a collaborative and nonjudgmental environment where you can openly explore your concerns, goals, and readiness for change. Rather than telling you what you should do, I help you identify your own motivations, strengths, and barriers. Together, we use that understanding to develop realistic treatment goals and support meaningful, lasting change.
