New to Grow
I’m Nikah, a compassionate and creative therapist who blends expressive arts with evidence-based approaches to help clients navigate life’s challenges. I work with individuals who are not only thinking of change, but ready to take the steps ready to show up for themselves—those seeking clarity, growth, and meaningful change. I support clients through identity exploration, life transitions, work-life balance, mood challenges like anxiety and depression, and relationship or communication struggles. My approach encourages self-discovery, emotional resilience, and authentic expression. Together, we transform reflection into action, helping clients uncover their strengths, set clear goals, and make lasting change. The impact of our work extends beyond the therapy room—clients leave feeling more confident, empowered, and connected to their true selves.
Your first session is a welcoming, safe space where we begin to get to know each other and your goals for therapy. We’ll start by exploring what brought you to therapy, your current challenges, and what you hope to achieve. I’ll ask questions to understand your personal history, values, and areas where you want growth, while also listening to what feels most important to you in the moment. Because I incorporate expressive arts therapy, we may also engage in creative exercises—storytelling, movement, or other forms of self-expression—to help uncover insights that words alone sometimes miss. These activities are optional but often offer powerful ways to connect with your emotions and identity. By the end of the session, we’ll clarify your therapy goals together and begin shaping a personalized plan that feels achievable and meaningful. My approach is collaborative and supportive—you’ll leave the session feeling heard, understood, and with a sense of direction for the work ahead.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the combination of creativity, compassion, and action. I blend expressive arts therapy with evidence-based techniques, helping clients explore emotions, identity, and challenges in ways that go beyond traditional talk therapy. My sessions are collaborative, engaging, and tailored to each person’s needs, encouraging self-discovery and personal growth. Clients often notice that our work doesn’t just stay in the therapy room—it translates into real-life change. They leave feeling more confident, grounded, and empowered to navigate life transitions, manage anxiety or depression, improve relationships, and embrace their authentic selves. My approach challenges clients in a supportive way, fostering insight, resilience, and meaningful transformation.
I enjoy serving clients who are ready to engage deeply in their growth and transformation—those who are present, committed, and willing to be challenged in pursuit of meaningful change. My ideal clients are open-minded, curious, and receptive to creativity and practical experiential approaches as I use expressive arts therapy alongside talk therapy to help people connect with themselves in deeper, often surprising ways. I often support individuals who are navigating life transitions, whether it’s a career change, a move, shifting relationships, or just trying to figure out what’s next. I also work with those struggling with mood challenges like anxiety, depression, or stress, helping them build emotional resilience and clarity. Together, we explore identity, self-expression, and the balance between personal and professional life. Relationships and communication often come into focus, too—helping clients strengthen connections, set boundaries, and express themselves authentically. I believe therapy is most powerful when it’s collaborative: you bring your experiences, and I bring tools, insight, and guidance to help you translate reflection into action. If you are ready to be present, curious, and challenged, we can work together to uncover your strengths, clarify your goals, and create change that feels meaningful and lasting. My approach is compassionate but direct—I support you in leaning into discomfort when it’s necessary to grow, while also celebrating the progress along the way. Therapy with me is a space to explore, create, reflect, and move forward. If you’re ready to do the work and embrace change with curiosity and courage, you’ll likely feel at home here.
Experiential Therapy
In my practice, I integrate experiential therapy as a way to help clients access and express emotions that may be difficult to articulate verbally. I use creative modalities such as expressive art, drama, and guided imagery to create a safe space for clients to explore internal experiences and interpersonal dynamics. This approach allows clients to externalize feelings, experiment with new behaviors, and gain insight into patterns that impact their daily lives. I often combine experiential exercises with reflective discussion and homework, such as creative writing or role-play, to reinforce learning and encourage integration of insights into their real-world interactions. Over time, I have found that experiential therapy helps clients deepen self-awareness, strengthen communication skills, and develop practical strategies for coping and growth.
Narrative
I use narrative therapy to help clients examine the stories they tell about themselves and their lives, identifying patterns that may limit their growth or wellbeing. Through guided reflection and dialogue, clients are encouraged to re-author these narratives, emphasizing strengths, values, and preferred ways of being. This approach allows them to externalize problems, gain perspective, and create more empowering and flexible life stories. It fosters self-awareness, resilience, and a greater sense of agency in shaping their experiences.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I integrate mindfulness practices into therapy to help clients develop present-moment awareness and regulate emotional responses. Techniques such as guided meditation, grounding exercises, and breathwork are used to support clients in managing stress, anxiety, and trauma-related dysregulation. Mindfulness allows clients to observe their thoughts and feelings without judgment, fostering greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and intentional action in daily life.
Psychoeducation
I use psychoeducation to help clients understand the underlying processes that influence their emotions, behaviors, and relationships. This includes topics such as trauma and brain function, internal dialogue, and coping mechanisms for stress and anxiety. By providing this knowledge, clients gain insight into their experiences, normalize their responses, and are empowered to make informed decisions and adopt effective strategies for personal growth.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I employ cognitive-behavioral techniques to help clients identify and reframe negative thought patterns and beliefs that impact their emotions and behaviors. Through structured reflection, behavioral experiments, and problem-solving exercises, clients learn to recognize unhelpful thinking, challenge cognitive distortions, and develop more adaptive coping strategies. CBT supports clients in creating measurable change, enhancing self-efficacy, and promoting resilience in daily life.
