My name is Vivian Jones, Licensed Professional Counselor- LPC, BCC, CMC, CEAP Over 20 years of experience in Mental Health. All sessions are virtual Sometimes life can be hard, but you are not alone. I am here to walk with you, support you and help you rediscover hope, strength and stability on your path in life. I work with adults and elder adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, stress, life transitions and mood management. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and other evidence based practical tools to help you discover your strengths, build your resilience and create a lasting positive change in your life.
During our first session, my focus is getting to know you. You will be supported and encouraged to share the things in your life that contributed to you reaching out for counseling services and any goals you have for our work together. I want you to feel comfortable sharing what you are ready to share without any pressure. I will discuss the basic framework of our counseling sessions and address any questions. I will also administer several clinical assessment tools to assist me in your personalize care.
I am a People person, I enjoy working with individuals resolving problems. I have a background in Mediation and I enjoy problem solving. In order to solve problems you have to be a good listener, attentive, remain neutral, supportive and have a hopeful positive mindset in order to get positive results.
I enjoy working with clients who are ready to take personal responsibility for their life and willing to do the work in order to gain deeper understanding of self to empower them to be the best version of themselves. I enjoy working with clients dealing with grief, stress, phase of life issues, professionals with work life balance, workplace conflict, women issues and conflict resolution.

I use a collaborate approach, together the therapist and client work together to challenge negative thinking and beliefs using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy skills. We will explore how the client contribute to their problem and increase aware of self defeating behaviors and converting it into rational behaviors. Therapist will help the client gain an understanding of the connection between their thinking, feeling and acting. We will explore choices to help the client understand they have choices. The client will be able to reach their goal through a guided process of discovery of inner strength, empowerment and tools to build resilience.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution Focused Therapy is built on the belief that the client is the expert of their own lives. A collaborative solution focused approach between client and therapist will be used to explore possible solutions rather than focusing on problems. Therapist and client will generate realistic, meaningful goals at the very beginning of therapy. Therapist will work with the client to identify strengths, options, changes and a plan for reaching their goals. Therapist will use Solution Focus skills and other evidence based tools to help the client reach their goals.
