Kelsi Camak

LPC (she/her)10 years of experience

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor who provides outpatient therapy for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, burnout, and life transitions. My practice is grounded in evidence-based approaches and integrative methods tailored to each client’s unique needs. I prioritize strong therapeutic rapport and believe meaningful change happens within a genuine, collaborative relationship. I also incorporate appropriate humor when helpful, as it can support connection, ease emotional intensity, and make the therapeutic process feel more approachable. I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients can better understand themselves, build effective coping skills, and work toward meaningful, values-based change.

First session

In your first session, you can expect a relaxed, collaborative conversation focused on understanding what brings you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the process. We’ll talk about your current concerns, relevant history, and any goals you may already have, while also moving at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I’ll ask questions to get a clearer picture of your experiences, but there is no pressure to share everything at once. The first session is also a chance for you to get a sense of my style, ask questions about therapy, and see if working together feels like a good fit. Together, we’ll begin identifying initial goals and discussing what a helpful direction for treatment might look like moving forward.

Strengths

My approach stands out because it is both evidence-based and deeply personalized, blending structured, research-supported modalities and integrative therapy with a flexible, client-centered style. I tailor treatment to each individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model, ensuring therapy aligns with the client’s unique needs, goals, and lived experiences. I also prioritize strong therapeutic rapport, recognizing that meaningful change happens within a relationship built on trust, authenticity, and collaboration. Clients can expect a space that is both supportive and direct, where we can do meaningful work while also allowing room for humor, humanity, and real connection. My goal is to help clients not only reduce symptoms, but also build insight, resilience, and lasting change that aligns with their values and the life they want to create.

Ideal clients

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, burnout, and challenges related to self-esteem or emotional well-being. My ideal clients are those who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the life they want to live and are seeking support, insight, and practical tools for change. I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, build effective coping skills, and work toward greater balance, resilience, and fulfillment. Through a collaborative and evidence-based approach, I help clients create meaningful and sustainable change that aligns with their personal values and goals.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based treatment modality in which I received formal training during graduate school. I work collaboratively with clients to explore the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, helping them develop practical skills to overcome challenges, improve emotional well-being, and create lasting positive change.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into my work with clients by helping them develop a healthier relationship with their thoughts and emotions while identifying the values that guide their lives. Through mindfulness, acceptance, and values-based action, I support clients in moving toward meaningful goals and creating lasting change, even in the presence of emotional discomfort. ACT provides practical tools for building resilience, self-compassion, and greater psychological well-being.

Integrative

My therapeutic approach is integrative and tailored to each client's unique circumstances. I believe effective therapy should be flexible and responsive, drawing from a variety of evidence-based approaches to best support growth and healing. By integrating cognitive, behavioral, mindfulness-based, and person-centered interventions, I work collaboratively with clients to develop meaningful insights, strengthen coping skills, and create lasting positive change.

Psychoeducation

I believe that knowledge can be a powerful tool for healing. Through psychoeducation, I help clients understand the connections between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences. By learning about mental health, coping strategies, and the factors that influence well-being, clients are better equipped to make meaningful changes, develop self-compassion, and actively participate in their treatment and recovery.

Multicultural

I believe effective therapy begins with understanding the unique cultural and personal experiences that shape each individual's life. Using a multicultural approach, I strive to create an environment of respect, curiosity, and cultural humility where clients can explore their concerns without judgment. I work collaboratively with clients to ensure that treatment reflects their values, identities, strengths, and lived experiences, fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust, empowerment, and inclusivity.
