I also specialize in supporting individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, family conflict, body image, self-esteem, substance abuse, and domestic violence. Together, we’ll work to create a safe space where you can heal, grow, and rediscover your strength. My name is Samantha McKnight, and I am a master’s level clinician with an LPC-MHSP license. I have been working in the mental health field for seven years. I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for my clients. I believe in working as a team and allowing clients to set the pace throughout treatment. Regardless of what you are facing, you don’t have to face it alone. In a safe, supportive space, we will work collaboratively to help you heal and find clarity. Together, we’ll explore your challenges and work toward meaningful change. It’s okay to ask for help—let’s take the first step toward a brighter, more balanced future. Reach out today.
The initial session focuses on establishing rapport, reviewing your presenting concerns, and gathering relevant background and psychosocial history. We can discuss the therapeutic process, confidentiality, treatment expectations, and initial goals for therapy. You will have an opportunity to identify current stressors, symptoms, and areas of concern to help guide treatment planning.
I create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable being themselves. I recognize that every person’s experiences and needs are different, so I tailor treatment to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. I use practical, solution-focused strategies alongside evidence-based approaches to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing meaningful tools for change. I focus on building a genuine therapeutic relationship and helping clients recognize their strengths, navigate challenges, and make sustainable changes that improve their overall well-being.
My ideal client is ready to better understand themselves, work through current challenges, and make meaningful changes in their life. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship or family concerns, life transitions, or the effects of past experiences. I work well with clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about their next steps and are looking for a space to process their experiences. Together, we can identify practical coping strategies, build on existing strengths, improve relationships, and work toward greater confidence and emotional well-being.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns of thinking that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, or other challenges. I help clients examine and challenge unhelpful thoughts while developing more balanced and realistic perspectives. CBT is also used to build practical coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and encourage healthier behaviors. I tailor these strategies to each client’s individual needs and focus on providing tools they can use both in and outside of therapy to create lasting change.
