As a PMHNP-BC, with 7 years of experience in a diverse clinical settings, I've had the opportunity to care for individuals facing a wide spectrum of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and substance use disorders. What drives me most is seeing the transformation in my patients- whether its helping someone regain stability, rebuild relationships or find hope during difficult times. My approach focuses on compassionate, individualized care that supports not just symptoms management, but overall wellbeing. Being part of my patients' recovery journeys has been both humbling and deeply rewarding.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I would like my patients to know that their first session with me is a safe, supportive and judgment free space. My goal is to get to know you as a whole person-not just your symptoms. Patients can expect that i will listen carefully and give them the opportunity to share their stories at their own pace. Patients will feel comfortable asking questions, expressing concerns and being open about their goals. Building trust is very important to me, and that starts from the very first session. So my the end of the visit, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of what's going on and a plan for next steps moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

AS a PMHNP-BC, my greatest strengths lie in my ability to build strong therapeutic relationships, provide patient -centered care, and integrate evidence-base approaches tailored to each individual's needs. what truly stands out about my therapeutic approach is my flexibility and intentional use of multiple modalities, including motivational interviewing, CBT, EFT. I don't take a ONE SIZE FITS ALL approach-instead I meet patients where they are and adapt my methods based on their readiness for change, clinical presentation, and personal goals. Another key strength is my ability to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, respected and empowered. This foundation of trust often leads to improved adherence to treatment and more meaningful outcomes. In terms of results, I have consistently seen patients achieve improved symptom management, increased insight, better coping skills and enhanced overall functioning. Many of my patients report feeling more in control of their mental health and more hopeful about their future, which is ultimately the goal of my practice.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client or patient will be the ones that are willing to engage in the therapeutic process regardless of their diagnosis- which include the client's willingness to participate in care, motivation for change, openness to a combination of treatments( medication management and psychotherapy), ability to build a therapeutic relationship, and consistency with follow-up and treatment plans. So clients struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and substance use disorder from ages 18 and above

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps patients understand and change the patterns that contribute to their distress. It is grounded in the notion that thoughts, emotions and behaviors are interconnected and thus by modifying unhelpful thinking patterns, patients can improve both emotional regulation and behavior. CBT is integrated into routine medication management visits as well as more structured therapeutic sessions. For example when working with patients with depression and or anxiety disorders, helping them identify automatic negative thoughts such as hopelessness and self criticism by examining the evidence for these thoughts and work towards reframing them into a more balance and realistic perspectives thereby improving the patients mood and better engagement in daily activities. With use of CBT in anxiety using techniques such as cognitive restructuring and worrying exposure are especially useful as it helps patients recognized cognitive distortions like catastrophizing and teach them how to challenge these thoughts, while relaxation techniques help reduce avoidance behaviors and build confidence in managing anxiety provoking situations. I have also applied CBT effectively in treating patients with substance use disorders by helping patients identify triggers, high risk situations and maladaptive thought patterns. Patients learn coping skills such as problem solving, emotional regulation and alternative behaviors which strengthen their recovery process. CBT is also particularly helpful because it is structured, goal oriented and empowers patients to become active participants in their care.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

The use of EFT has been very effective when working with patients struggling with interpersonal distress, depression/mood disorders, and trauma. By using this form of therapy, i help patients better understand, experience and regualte their emotions especially within the context of relationships. EFT emphasizes that emotional responses are key to shaping how individuals connect with others and interpret their experiences. By using this form of therapy it allows me to help patients not only reduce symptoms but also build deeper emotional insight, resilience, and more secure, fulfilling relationships.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is used to help individuals resolve ambivalence and strengthen their intrinsic motivation for change. I use open-ended questions, affirmations, reflective listening to help explore their ambivalence and most importantly foster a nonjudgmental, empathetic environment where patients feel heard and respected. I have seen this approach empower individuals to take ownership of their treatment, increase engagement, and ultimately support sustainable, meaningful change that aligns with their personal values and goals.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use this in my practice to focus on the patients, resources and solutions rather than becoming stuck in problems. It allows me to help patients quickly identify goals, build on their strengths and achieve measurable progress, leading to improve functioning and a greater sense of control over their mental health.
