I’m a licensed therapist specializing in individual therapy with adults. I have a particular passion for working with young and middle-aged adults facing the unique challenges of their generations. I believe a healing therapeutic relationship starts with presenting my authentic self, because trust is the foundation of our work together. I use a trauma-informed approach based on your needs to help you navigate identity and relationships, heal from hurt, and cultivate a kind relationship with yourself. I draw from many modalities and my creativity as a fine artist, often using EMDR, psychodynamic technique, and mindfulness. Whatever you may be facing, we will walk together in your journey toward joy, healing, and peace.
From our first session, I'll work to build a trusting and warm relationship with you. I'll listen to how you name your struggles, needs, dreams, and strengths, and offer feedback on possible ways forward. This is your therapy and your time.
I believe therapy should be grounded in the belief that we can all live good lives. My client relationships are strong and I have seen clients move from deeply depressed to joyful and free. I believe every client is different, with different needs, which means different tools. I draw from many modalities to collaborate with you in your therapy journey.
I enjoy and have extensive experience working with young and middle-aged adults. For adults who grew up before and into the internet age, and for the first generations raised in an online world, constant change (often for the worse) and unattainable models of success can take huge psychological and material tolls. Individuals from these generations often face difficulties with shame and self-doubt, dating, family dynamics, identity, depression, anxiety, poor self-esteem, work and housing, and financial security. These generations have incredible strengths and dreams, and it is a joy to work with them.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based protocol used to treat symptoms rooted in trauma. I use this system in my practice to help clients overcome any of a range of challenges - PTSD symptoms, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and others.
I draw on psychodynamic techniques to help clients process difficult experiences and chronic patterns of behavior that are contributing to current struggles with relationships, symptoms, and daily life.
I provide my clients with clear, direct information relating to their symptoms and experiences, and the theories, science, and systems that will help them in their therapy journey
