(he/him)
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 12 years of experience in crisis response, clinical assessment, and trauma-informed care. I work primarily with adults and adolescents (12+) navigating trauma, anxiety, ADHD, burnout, and major life transitions. My approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT). I believe therapy should help people become more confident in understanding themselves and responding to life's challenges. My goal isn't to provide all the answers, but to help clients leave with the perspective and a different way of navigating challenges. Before entering outpatient practice, I spent many years working in crisis services and involuntary treatment settings. That experience reinforced something I continue to believe deeply: people are often capable of far more change than they realize. Everyone has the capacity to get better and make positive changes. I especially enjoy working with people who are curious, reflective, and invested in their own growth. Many of my clients are professionals, entrepreneurs, healthcare workers, first responders, and others balancing demanding lives while striving to live with greater purpose and intention. As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I also understand firsthand both the strengths and challenges that can come with ADHD, and I enjoy helping clients build systems that work with their brains rather than against them.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and you don't need to have everything figured out before we meet. The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and decide whether we're a good fit. I'll spend time understanding what brings you to therapy, but I'm just as interested in learning who you are beyond the challenges you're facing. Together we'll clarify what feels most important, identify where you'd like life to look different, and begin building a plan that reflects your goals and values. My hope is that you'll leave our first meeting feeling understood, with greater clarity about where you are and confidence in where we're headed together.
Clients often describe my style as thoughtful, supportive, and appropriately challenging. I strive to create an environment where people feel comfortable being honest while also feeling encouraged to look at themselves with curiosity rather than judgment. Rather than simply offering advice, I enjoy thinking alongside my clients. Together we'll ask meaningful questions, explore different perspectives, and turn insight into action. My role isn't to tell you how to live your life. It's to help you become more confident in navigating it yourself.
The people who tend to benefit most from working with me are those who are curious, reflective, and willing to actively engage in the therapeutic process. They may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain, but they're open to examining themselves honestly and trying new ways of approaching life's challenges. I work especially well with people who want to better understand themselves and create lasting change. If you're looking for a therapist who values curiosity, honest reflection, and thoughtful challenge, we may be a good fit.
Other specialties
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to help people develop a different relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions rather than spending all of their energy trying to get rid of them. Together we'll build psychological flexibility, clarify what matters most to you, and practice taking meaningful action even when life feels uncomfortable. The goal isn't to eliminate every difficult feeling. It's to help you move forward without letting those feelings dictate your life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT helps us understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together we'll identify unhelpful thinking patterns, examine whether they're moving you toward or away from the life you want, and develop practical strategies that support lasting change. I view CBT as a collaborative process focused on building understanding as much as building skills.
Trauma-Focused CBT
Trauma can shape the way we see ourselves, other people, and the world long after difficult experiences have passed. TF-CBT provides a structured, evidence-based framework for understanding those effects, strengthening coping skills, and processing traumatic experiences safely. I tailor the pace of trauma work to each individual, emphasizing trust, collaboration, and emotional safety throughout the process.

I've really enjoyed working with Patrick. He is the first person I have ever worked with in a therapy setting, and he has consistently made me feel comfortable. He is very open minded, while still being willing to challenge the way I think and act when it's necessary. I have really enjoyed working with Patrick. I think his biggest contribution to my life has been to help me find the tools to process emotions, build self-confidence, and find self-love.
