Hello, I am Dr. Sheree Savage-Artis, DNP, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, founder of Mental Harmony, PLLC. I am a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of healthcare experience. Life can be challenging, and sometimes the emotional weight of stress, anxiety, depression, or other mental health concerns can make it difficult to feel like yourself. You don't have to face those challenges on your own. My goal is to provide a supportive, compassionate space where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns and taking meaningful steps toward improving your mental well-being. I specialize in psychiatric evaluations and medication management for individuals ages 14 and older. While medication can be an important part of treatment, I believe it works best when it's part of a personalized plan that reflects your unique experiences, goals, and needs. Together, we'll determine the approach that is right for you and make thoughtful adjustments along the way to help you achieve lasting progress. In my practice, I believe the best care begins with a trusting relationship. I take the time to listen, encourage open communication, and work alongside you to develop a treatment plan that reflects your unique needs, goals, and values. When appropriate, I collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure your care is comprehensive and well coordinated. Whether you're seeking mental health care for the first time or continuing your journey toward emotional wellness, I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that helps you feel empowered, supported, and confident in your progress.

First session

During our first session together, we'll take the time to get to know each other and explore what has brought you to seek care. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences, concerns, and goals. During this time, we'll talk about what has been happening in your life, the symptoms you've been experiencing, your medical and mental health history, and any challenges that may be affecting your daily functioning and overall well-being. We'll also discuss what you hope to gain from treatment so we can develop a plan that reflects your individual needs and priorities. We will explore treatment options together and determine the approach that best fits your situation. If medication is recommended, I will educate you about the benefits, potential risks, and what to expect, ensuring you have the information you need to make confident, informed decisions. I also incorporate supportive therapy into our sessions to encourage, provide practical guidance, and create a safe space to process life's challenges. Before we finish, we'll review your personalized treatment plan, discuss next steps, and answer any questions you may have. Whether your plan includes medication management, therapy recommendations, lifestyle strategies, or a combination of approaches, my goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and confident that we're working together toward meaningful, lasting progress.

Strengths

I bring compassion, active listening, and a patient-centered approach to every session. With over 15 years of healthcare experience and dual certification as a Family and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I provide comprehensive, evidence-based care that considers both mental and physical health. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to actively participate in their treatment and personal growth.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is an individual age 14 or older who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, mood changes, trauma-related symptoms, difficulty concentrating, sleep concerns, or other emotional and behavioral challenges. I enjoy working with clients who are ready to better understand their symptoms and actively participate in creating a treatment plan that supports their goals. My practice provides a compassionate, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.

Treatment methods

Psychodynamic

I use psychodynamic therapy, which is a form of talk therapy that explores how past experiences, early relationships, unconscious thoughts, and recurring emotional patterns influence a person’s current feelings and behavior. It may help patients: Recognize repeated relationship or behavior patterns Understand unresolved conflicts or past trauma Identify defense mechanisms Improve emotional awareness and relationships Develop healthier ways of coping

Supportive

Supportive therapy is a method used in my practice by: Encouraging patients to express their thoughts and emotions in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. Validating their emotional experiences while helping them distinguish between feelings and facts. Providing reassurance when appropriate without minimizing their concerns. Reinforcing strengths, resilience, and previous successes. Helping patients identify healthy coping strategies. Teaching problem-solving techniques for current stressors. Offering guidance and psychoeducation about their diagnosis, medications, sleep, stress, and lifestyle. Promoting hope by emphasizing that improvement is possible with treatment. Encouraging medication adherence and participation in therapy when indicated.
