Hello! My name is Denise Schuster. I am a licensed professional counselor in Ga. I have been in practice for many years. I work with people who have depression, anxiety, marriage problems, addiction problems, weight problems, general life problems or adjustment problems to specific life events. I often use CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) with my clients as I believe how we think about things affects how we feel. I also like to encourage people to eat healthy, exercise and get good sleep as I believe these go a long way in helping not only our physical health, but our mental health too.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I like to get to know a person a little, first, by finding out, of course, what they are seeking therapy for and a little about their childhood, current marital status, if they have children and how their relationship is with family. I ask about employment and if they like their job and who they consider their support. I also tell clients we will only talk about what they are ready to talk about, when they are ready. I am always open to any questions they may have about how therapy works.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe I am easy to talk to and provide a relaxed atmosphere.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

While I love working with people with any of the above issues, I especially enjoy working with those who struggle with weight problems.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I believe how we view things can ultimately change our feelings. I work with people on challenging any negative and or irrational beliefs they may have that keep them "stuck' in unhelpful thoughts and feelings. We work to discover where these irrational thoughts may have started and work to allow a person to take charge of their life and take back power over their lives.
