Welcome to Walker Psychiatry LLC! I'm Nathalee Walker PMHNP-BC. Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - taking this step can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. Together, we will identify your challenges and goals - where you want your life to be a month, six months, a year from now. Then, we'll identify options and strategies you can use to get there.
In our first session we will discuss your needs, symptoms and how best i can help you with the tools i have. We will spend time getting to know each other. I would love to hear your story and create a plan of care together to best meet your needs. We often need to start with some immediate and short-term goals, and work towards long-term success in your mental wellness journey. You'll leave the session with a better understanding of what you're facing with an "actions I can take right now" approach. There will always be room for suggestions concerning our work together, including keeping each other accountable. I am a great listener! I believe that you know your body and mind best, and I promise to listen to your concerns and challenges, and do my best to help you.
Counseling along with medication management can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share. I focus on providing individualized supportive care in a non-judgmental manner and environment using a holistic approach of care. My clients' needs are my top priority.
I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication & boundaries with themselves and those around them that can help improve their quality of life. I am experienced in providing diagnostic evaluation and treatment, including medication management for client ages 18 and up with Depression, Bipolar disorder, Anxiety Disorders, ADHD, Adjustment disorders, OCD, PTSD, schizophrenia/schizoaffective disorder, and Alcohol use disorders.
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past two years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
