New to Grow
I’ve been a counselor for 3 years and have over 12 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate trauma, anxiety, addiction, depression, ADHD, behavioral challenges, and personality disorders. I offer a supportive, practical, and collaborative approach focused on healing, growth, and lasting change. I communicate in a calm, respectful, and supportive way. Sessions are nonjudgmental and collaborative, allowing space for honesty, curiosity, and growth. I aim to create a safe environment where clients feel heard, understood, and encouraged. Goals are set collaboratively and guided by each client’s needs and priorities. I help turn concerns into concrete action steps, track progress over time, and adjust strategies to support steady, realistic growth. I take a trauma-informed, collaborative approach that prioritizes safety, understanding, and empowerment. Therapy focuses on practical tools, emotional regulation, and insight, helping clients move forward with greater confidence and resilience.
The first session is a safe, low-pressure space to share your story at your own pace. We’ll explore what’s bringing you in, discuss goals, and begin building a plan that feels supportive, collaborative, and manageable.
I work with clients impacted by trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, and behavioral challenges. I help individuals, couples, and families develop practical skills, process experiences safely, and move forward with greater stability and hope.
My ideal client is someone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from the life and relationships they want. They may be carrying the effects of trauma, anxiety, grief, family conflict, relationship difficulties, or patterns they do not fully understand. I especially enjoy working with individuals, adolescents, couples, first responders, and men who may struggle to open up or feel unsure about counseling. My clients do not need to have everything figured out—they simply need a willingness to be honest, explore what is beneath the surface, and take practical steps toward healing, stronger relationships, and a more meaningful life.
I use Christian counseling to help clients explore healing, identity, relationships, and personal growth through a faith-based perspective, incorporating Scripture, prayer, and biblical principles when desired by the client.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and change unhealthy thought patterns that influence their emotions and behaviors.
I use Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help clients work through trauma-related beliefs, challenge thoughts that keep them feeling stuck, and develop a healthier understanding of themselves, others, and what they have experienced.
I use a trauma-informed approach that prioritizes emotional safety, trust, collaboration, and empowerment throughout the counseling process. Rather than asking, “What is wrong with you?” I help clients explore, “What happened to you, and how have you learned to survive?” I recognize that many behaviors, emotional reactions, and relationship patterns may have developed as protective responses to difficult experiences. Counseling moves at a pace that respects each client’s readiness, choices, strengths, and personal boundaries. My goal is to help clients understand their responses without shame, develop healthier coping skills, rebuild a sense of safety and control, and move toward lasting healing.
Through Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), clients develop practical skills for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, improving relationships, and responding more effectively to difficult situations.
