Hi! I'm a double-board certified APRN in the specialities of Psychiatric-Mental Health and Family. I am based out of Kentucky and received my DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) and post-graduate training from the University of Louisville. I believe that mental health does not feel like a "safe" space for many people; I would like to change that! My goal is to treat all clients with the respect and dignity that is deserved, while working collaboratively to achieve individual goals with a healthy-minded approach. I look forward to accomplishing great things together!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will spend some time getting to know each other and then discussing the specific challenges that prompted the appointment. I have one rule only: 1) We must be honest with each other at all times for this to work! I can commit to being transparent with my patients; in my experience thus far, the best results are achieved when my clients are completely open with me. And be assured that all sessions are a certified, judgment-free safe space!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe that my greatest strength is really listening to my clients so that I can understand what they are wanting to accomplish. I never want a client to leave a session with me feeling unheard, misunderstood, or frustrated for any reason. I believe in an open, collaborative therapeutic relationship! My job is not to simply write a prescription to "fix it" - instead, we will be working together hand-in-hand every step of the way. I want my patients to be involved with establishing treatment goals and any "course corrections" that we may have to make along the way.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with clients that have identified that there is a problem with their mental health, acknowledge that a change is needed, and brave enough to say it out loud and seek help. From there, we will craft a plan collaboratively and get to work! I am qualified to treat all psychiatric conditions across the lifespan; I also have extensive additional training in the treatment of Substance Use Disorders (SUD). I also have a passion for stabilizing those clients that are affected by Bipolar Disorder and other psychotic disorders (e.g. Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Psychosis, etc).

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

While we use an individualized approach to selecting a treatment methodology; the overarching philosophy of this practice is focusing on maladaptive thinking that can lead to maladaptive behaviors. We will work together to create healthy ways of approaching the challenging situations that life throws at us all.
