As a PMHNP, my greatest strengths as a provider include: (1) Empathy and compassion: I endeavor to create a safe, non-judgmental environment that enables clients feel understood and supported. Building rapport and showing empathy allows me to connect deeply with my clients, which enhances therapeutic outcomes. (2) Holistic approach: I view mental health care as more than just symptom management and this helps me consider the client's physical health, lifestyle, emotional well-being, and environment to create comprehensive, personalized treatment plans. (3) Medication management expertise: my strong base in psychopharmacology endowed me the skill to assess, prescribe, and adjusting medications. I focus on balancing efficacy with minimizing side effects, while educating clients on the medications they are taking. (4) Trauma-informed care: My experience with individuals who have experienced trauma has equipped me on how to approach care with sensitivity and awareness. I am all the way out to ensure that my clients feel empowered and safe, which helps them cope and overcome triggers of past trauma. (5) Adaptability and flexibility: My telehealth provision makes me adaptable to my clients’ needs and schedules. This makes care more accessible, by removing barriers such as location and time constraints. (6) Cultural competent care: I’m committed to serving diverse populations, respecting cultural differences, and tailoring cares to meet the unique backgrounds and preferences of each client. (7) Strong clinical experiences: With over 12 years in nursing and extensive experience in psychiatric settings, I bring a wealth of knowledge in the diagnoses, treatments, and managements of complex mental health conditions. My hands-on experience helps me anticipate challenges and navigate clinical nuances effectively.

CBT is an evidence-based treatment that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. In my practice with my client for our initial sessions, I will conduct a thorough assessment to understand my client’s concerns and symptoms and then with my client set specific and achievable goals such as reducing anxiety, managing depression, or improving coping skills. Since CBT focuses on how our thoughts influence our emotions and behaviors, I will work with my client to identify negative or unhelpful thoughts that may be contributing to his/her mental health issues. Once these negative thought patterns are identified, I will then guide my client in challenging them and work to replace them with more balanced, realistic perspectives.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based therapeutic technique that is a client-centered as it helps clients explore and resolve ambivalence about making positive changes in their lives. This means that MI comes to the rescue/effective for individuals who may feel stuck or unsure about making changes such as lifestyle habits or behaviors. In my practice I incorporate MI by creating collaborative and non-judgmental relationship with my client and working as a team guide my client in exploring his/her thoughts and feelings around change. My role is to guide without pressuring my client so we could work together as a team to explore my client’s motivation for change.
In Christian Counseling I integrate principles of faith with evidence-based mental health practices to support my client’s emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being, thereby addressing my client’s concerns from a holistic perspective, rooted in both psychological insights and Christian beliefs. Since Christian Counseling blends psychological methods with biblical principles, I employ it to help my client explore how his/her faith can be a source of strength and guidance during difficult times by using scriptural passages, discuss/encourage prayer, hymns and spiritual practices as tools for coping as well as encouraging/building strong faith in God.
