Dr. Cecilia Ibe DNP
Hi, I am a double-certified Nurse Practitioner in Family and Psychiatric Mental Health with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and over 20 years of nursing experience, including more than 9 years as a Nurse Practitioner. I work with adolescents and adults seeking support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and other mental health concerns. My job is to help you feel well and focused as you complete your daily activities. My approach is holistic, compassionate, and collaborative. I will work closely with you to create a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your life goals, focusing on helping you feel better mentally, emotionally, and physically so your progress is sustainable, not just a short-term fix. With my extensive experience and educational background, we will use evidence-based practice to guide you toward emotional stability, improved functioning, and lasting improvements in your quality of life.
First session
During our 60-minute first session, we’ll take time to get to know you and understand what brings you in. We will discuss your current concerns, mental health history, medical background, medications, and goals for treatment. We’ll discuss symptoms in detail, and I’ll answer your questions so you feel informed and comfortable. We may discuss medication options and develop an initial treatment plan. My goal for the first visit is to create a safe, supportive space, clarify next steps, and ensure you leave feeling heard, understood, and confident about your care.
Strengths
What sets my therapeutic approach apart is not only my 20+ years of nursing experience and 9+ years as a nurse practitioner, but also the life perspective I bring into the room. As a Nigerian immigrant, I understand resilience, transition, cultural identity, and the complexity of navigating multiple worlds. I have lived the experience of adapting, overcoming barriers, and building stability in a new environment. This allows me to deeply understand clients who are balancing cultural expectations, generational differences, immigration stress, or identity challenges. As a mother, I understand the emotional weight of caregiving, the pressure to “hold it all together,” and the desire to protect and provide while still caring for yourself. I bring warmth, patience, and practical wisdom to parents and caregivers who feel overwhelmed. As a Christian, my faith grounds me in compassion, integrity, humility, and hope. While I respect every client’s belief and never impose my own, I am comfortable integrating faith into treatment for clients who desire spiritually sensitive care.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are adolescents and adults who are ready to take an active role in improving their mental health. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, mood changes, stress, trauma, or difficulty functioning in daily life, and you’re looking for thoughtful, evidence-based psychiatric care. You value clear communication, careful and individualized medication management, and a provider who truly listens, explains, and adjusts treatment based on your unique needs. You understand that meaningful change takes collaboration, commitment, and consistency. You are open to growth. You are willing to do the work. You are seeking stability, clarity, and long-term emotional wellness, not just quick symptom relief. If you are looking for a compassionate, experienced, culturally responsive, and faith-sensitive provider who combines clinical excellence with genuine care, look no more. You have found a partner who is committed to walking alongside you toward healing, strength, and lasting balance.
Treatment methods
Integrative
“In my practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I use an integrative treatment approach that focuses on the whole person, not just symptoms. My goal is to use the most appropriate evidence-based treatments for you. I prescribe thoughtfully, monitor your response closely, and adjust as needed. When appropriate, I also incorporate therapy, lifestyle support, and other integrative strategies. I work closely with you to create a personalized treatment plan that fits your life and goals, with a focus on helping you feel better mentally, emotionally, and physically, so your progress is sustainable, not just a short-term fix.
