New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC) and I work with older teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I strive to create a space where you feel supported and validated, while also helping you take honest ownership of the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. You can expect a listening ear, as well as someone to call you out on your stuff.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know you and what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask a variety of questions about your current concerns, your history, relationships, and patterns so I can get a full picture of who you are and how you got here. I do take notes during this session, and it tends to be a bit more structured than future sessions — this helps me understand you well and create a thoughtful plan moving forward. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about myself as a therapist, therapy, what to expect, whatever you've got. We’ll also talk about what you’d like to get out of therapy and begin identifying goals so we have a clear direction. Think of this as identifying a “North Star” for our work together. After the initial session, therapy becomes more collaborative and fluid. I will continue to guide the process, ask important questions, and offer insight and tools — you won’t be left to figure it out alone. Over time, as you feel more comfortable, you’ll have more space to bring in what feels most important week to week. My role is to support, guide, and gently challenge you so we can create meaningful progress together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What stands out about my approach is the emphasis I place on building a genuine, collaborative relationship with my clients. I meet people where they are, speaking in clear, real language while also providing clinical insight, research-based interventions, and tools when they’re useful. I’m especially skilled at creating a space where clients feel heard and understood, while also gently challenging patterns that may be holding them back. Many of my clients return months or even years later because of the trust, safety, and clarity we’ve built together. My goal is for therapy to feel practical, grounded, and relatable while still guiding meaningful change—helping clients gain insight, strengthen coping skills, and feel more empowered in their lives.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with clients who are open to honest, real conversations and who are willing to look at patterns that may be holding them back. Many of the people I see are high achievers, people-pleasers, or caregivers who are used to being strong for everyone else and are now trying to figure out who they are and what they need. If you value authenticity, humor, and a therapist who is both compassionate and straightforward, we will likely be a good fit.
Integrative
I take an integrative, client-centered approach to therapy, meaning I tailor treatment to each individual’s needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. My foundation is rooted in Rogerian person-centered therapy, creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and understood. From there, I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, and DBT-informed skills to support emotion regulation and distress tolerance when needed. I also incorporate Motivational Interviewing to strengthen readiness for change, Narrative Therapy to help clients re-author limiting stories about themselves, and feminist-informed perspectives to explore relational dynamics, identity, and systemic influences. Throughout our work, I provide psychoeducation to empower clients with insight and practical tools. My goal is always to balance compassion with skill-building so clients feel both supported and equipped for meaningful change.
