Maryann is a mental health nurse practitioner and board-certified (PMHNP-BC). She has over 11 years of nursing experience caring and supporting patients across the lifespan; she received her bachelor’s in nursing science from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, Arizona, and her master’s degree at Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota. She also received her first nursing diploma certificate at St Luke’s Anglican School of Nursing Wusasa Zaria Kaduna State of Nigeria.
As a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am dedicated to providing holistic care to individuals struggling with a diverse range of mental health conditions. With a strong foundation in evidence-based practices, I excel in conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering effective therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. My passion lies in fostering a safe and supportive therapeutic environment to empower patients to achieve lasting mental well-being while actively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
As professional mental health nurse practitioner my desire and passion are to provide care and promote mental health practice. My aim is to provide a space for each mental health patients to freely express their feelings and concerns and to eventually find a solution that is specific and individualized to their concerns My strengths as a mental health nurse practitioner are excellent communication skills which are essential to mental health in general, assessment skills, interdisciplinary collaboration, leadership skills needed for effective mental health care management and cultural competency that helps in address diverse patient needs.
Maryann is a dedicated and compassionate provider who provides client-focused care and brings body, soul, and mind into recognition. As a mental health nurse practitioner, I specialize in the assessment and management of mental health issues through psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, making client’s gaining control of their mental health success. Effective communication, listening, and understanding the client and the factors leading to their symptoms are essential to my goal.
actively working with the therapist to identify the challenge, thought patterns and behaviors that is affecting the client, leaning to replace them with more helpful realistic and positive ones, gradually build coping skills and self-awareness, offering techniques like journaling, cognitive restructuring and exposure therapy and also using collaborating approach to identifying arear for change.
