About me

I'm Levarine Glamor, a Licensed Independent Social Worker and trauma-informed therapist based in Ohio. Through my practice, House of Shalom Therapeutic Services, I offer neurodivergent-affirming care for adults who are ready to move from surviving to truly thriving. My work blends evidence-based modalities — including Internal Family Systems, Brainspotting, and somatic therapy — with a deep respect for the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Whether you're navigating trauma, identity, or the quiet exhaustion of masking who you are, House of Shalom is a space where you are welcome exactly as you are.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is yours — there's no agenda to perform and nothing you need to have figured out before you arrive. We'll start by getting acquainted: I'll ask about what brought you here, what's felt heavy lately, and what you're hoping might shift. I'll also share a little about how I work, so you can decide whether my approach feels like the right fit for you. I pay close attention not just to what you say, but to how your body holds your story — the places where words run out, where you hold your breath, where things get complicated. That's often where the most important work begins. By the end of our first session, you should leave with a sense of being heard, some early clarity about what we might explore together, and a feel for what our work could look like. There's no pressure to commit before you're ready. My goal is simply for you to feel safe enough to come back.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What makes my work different is that I don't separate the clinical from the human. Many therapists are trained to treat symptoms — I'm trained to understand the whole story behind them. I combine the precision of evidence-based modalities like Internal Family Systems and Brainspotting with a genuine belief that healing is also spiritual, somatic, and deeply personal. I am neurodivergent-affirming at my core — which means I don't pathologize the ways your brain works or the ways you've learned to cope. I see your protective patterns not as problems to eliminate, but as intelligent responses to real experiences. Our work together is about understanding those parts of you, not fighting them. I also bring something most clinicians don't: the lived experience of building resilience across very different seasons of life — as a mother, grandmother, an emergency social worker, and a healer. That breadth means I can meet you in complexity without flinching. You won't be rushed through a protocol or reduced to a diagnosis. You'll be seen, held in your full humanity, and guided toward the version of yourself that has always been waiting on the other side of the work.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who has spent a lifetime feeling like they were built differently — and they're right. They may carry diagnoses like ADHD, autism, anxiety, or PTSD, or they may simply know that their nervous system responds to the world in ways others don't seem to understand. They're often deep feelers, deep thinkers, and incredibly capable people who are exhausted from working twice as hard just to appear "normal." They've likely tried to manage on their own for a long time. They're resourceful, self-aware, and somewhere beneath the survival mode, genuinely curious about who they could be if they finally felt safe enough to find out. My ideal client might be: An adult who suspects or has recently discovered they are neurodivergent and is trying to make sense of their history through that lens Someone carrying unprocessed trauma that lives in the body — anxiety that won't quiet, hypervigilance that won't rest, emotions that arrive too big or get shut down completely A person navigating life transitions — identity shifts, relationship changes, career crossroads, spiritual questioning — who needs more than advice; they need grounded, thoughtful support Someone who has felt unseen or misunderstood in previous therapeutic relationships and is ready to try again with a provider who truly gets it I also have a heart for people who are spiritually rooted but complicated — those who hold deep faith and big questions at the same time, and who need a therapist who won't ask them to choose between the two. If you've ever said "I just need someone who gets me" — that's exactly who I'm here for.

My treatment methods

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I use IFS because I believe no part of you is the enemy. Every behavior, every emotional reaction, every pattern that feels "stuck" exists for a reason — it was trying to protect you. IFS gives us a compassionate map for understanding the different parts of yourself: the part that shuts down, the part that overreacts, the part that never feels good enough, and the part beneath all of them that remains whole and capable of healing. In our work together, IFS helps you build a relationship with your inner world rather than a war against it. Instead of trying to eliminate anxiety, anger, or avoidance, we get curious about what those parts are carrying and what they need. For my neurodivergent clients especially, this approach is transformative — because for many of them, the parts that have been most criticized are often the ones that have been working the hardest to keep them safe.

Brainspotting

Some experiences don't have words — and they don't need them. Brainspotting is a powerful brain-body based modality that works with the premise that where you look affects how you feel. By identifying specific eye positions that correspond to where trauma or emotional pain is held in the nervous system, we can access and process experiences that talk therapy alone can't always reach. I use Brainspotting for clients who feel stuck even after years of insight-based work, or whose trauma lives more in the body than in conscious memory. It's particularly effective for complex trauma, emotional overwhelm, and the kind of deep-rooted distress that surfaces as physical tension, shutdown, or dysregulation. You don't have to relive your story in detail for healing to happen — your brain and body already know where to go.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Not every session needs to go deep into the past. Sometimes the most powerful question is: What's already working? Solution-Focused Therapy is a forward-facing approach that helps you identify your existing strengths, resources, and moments of resilience — and build deliberately from there. I use SFT to help clients who feel overwhelmed by the weight of what's wrong reconnect with evidence of what's right. It's especially useful during periods of transition or when someone needs to build momentum and confidence before diving into deeper processing work. SFT reminds us that you are not your problems — you have already survived things that required enormous skill, and that skill is the foundation we build on together.
