Tiffany Haufe
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with highly motivated clients who are actively looking to work toward their therapy goals. I like to help clients to set actionable goals so that they can better assess their growth and progress on a weekly basis. I connect well with new parents who may be struggling in the postpartum period. I work well with caregivers of children and adults with special needs. I work with clients struggling with grief/loss and with navigating life transitions.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I work collaboratively with clients on recognizing and changing harmful thought patterns and behaviors. I facilitate cognitive restructuring and the use of relaxation techniques. I actively encourage clients to practice new strategies outside of session.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate elements of DBT in my clinical practice and focus on helping individuals to improve mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Gottman method
I assist clients in exploring and strengthening their romantic relationships. I focus on helping individuals and couples to better manage conflict, improve intimacy and emotional connection, and build trust and open communication.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I aim to create a safe, non-judgemental space to explore the concerns and issues most deeply affecting clients' lives. I believe that therapy is a fluid process through which I move along with clients as their areas of focus shift and evolve. The client is in the driver's seat.
Psychoeducation
I believe that it is important to empower clients by providing them with knowledge about mental health issues and evidence-based treatment approaches. This helps clients to gain a better understanding of themselves and the coping strategies they can utilize to facilitate growth and healing.
