I’m a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 5 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and focused on helping you build resilience, gain insight, and achieve emotional well-being.

First session

During your first session, you can expect a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where we’ll begin getting to know each other. I’ll ask questions about your mental health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and goals for treatment. This initial visit is focused on understanding your unique experiences so we can create a personalized care plan. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions, share expectations, and decide if this feels like the right fit for you. My goal is to make you feel comfortable, heard, and empowered as we start this journey together.

Strengths

I strive to build a compassionate and therapeutic relationship where patients feel truly seen and heard. When it comes to medication management, I take a thoughtful and collaborative approach—listening carefully to your concerns, explaining your options clearly, and working with you to find what feels right for your body and mind. I understand that starting or adjusting medication can feel overwhelming, so I make it a priority to support you every step of the way. Patients often tell me they feel comfortable, cared for, and confident knowing I’m not just here to prescribe, but to partner with them on their journey to feeling better and living more fully.

Ideal clients

work best with adults who are ready to take an active role in their mental health and overall well-being. My ideal clients are individuals who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, mood changes, trauma, stress-related concerns, sleep difficulties, ADHD, or life transitions, and who are looking for a thoughtful, collaborative approach to care. Many are seeking not only symptom relief, but also a deeper understanding of themselves and lasting improvements in daily functioning and quality of life. I am especially well positioned to support highly motivated clients who are open to self-reflection, engaged in the therapeutic process, and committed to making meaningful changes. These individuals often want to better understand the connection between mental, emotional, and physical health while developing healthier coping skills, routines, and relationships. I also work well with clients who are interested in reducing unnecessary medications and minimizing polypharmacy whenever clinically appropriate. Together, we take a careful and evidence-based approach to treatment planning, exploring lifestyle factors, behavioral strategies, and medication optimization to help simplify care while maintaining stability and wellness. My goal is to provide compassionate, individualized treatment that empowers clients to feel more balanced, informed, and in control of their health.

Treatment methods

Supportive

As a PMHNP, I integrate supportive treatment methods as a core component of my clinical practice. I utilize this approach to foster a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship, offering empathy, validation, and encouragement to help patients cope with current stressors and emotional challenges. Supportive therapy allows me to meet patients where they are, reinforce their strengths, and promote adaptive functioning. I often combine supportive techniques with psychoeducation, active listening, and guidance in problem-solving to help patients build resilience, enhance self-esteem, and maintain stability during crises or while managing chronic mental health conditions.

I just had my second session with Erica Winter. She is down to earth and so easy to talk to. I actually look forward to our next session.

Erica is a fantastic listener and really works to make sure you feel comfortable with treatment options—while also identifying possible areas that could use some fine-tuning—and suggesting new ones to try in the future. It is difficult to find a doctor who truly “hears” the patient/takes what you say into consideration, so I am grateful to have found one so quickly upon moving.
