New to Grow
I am Lorena Amador, a licensed mental health counselor who prioritizes walking alongside my clients as individuals, beyond any specific diagnosis. With extensive experience guiding clients toward their goals, my practice is built on a compassionate, person-centered foundation. As an eclectic therapist, i integrate evidence-based tools like CBT, DBT, and ACT to help you manage complex emotions and build psichological flexibility. Also, specializing in grief therapy, I provide a safe space for healing. Let's work together toward a more resilient , meaningful life.
In your first session, you can expect a safe, welcoming space where your feelings are fully validated and heard. We will gently explore your story at your pace, begining to untangle the confusion together. You will leave feeling as a person, not just a diagnosis, with a clear starting point for your healing. You are the expert of your life!
My greatest strenght lie in the balance of deep empathy and years of clinical experience. I offer a naturally warm, non-judgemental presence that allows you to feel safe and understood from the very fist moment. Whether you are walking through grief or managing a lifelong diagnosis, I provide specialized care for those ready to transform their pain into a path of resilient.
My ideal client is someone feeling lost or desperate, perhaps afraidbecause they don't understand their own journey. If you feel overwhelmed by your emotions, I am here to walk beside you, providing the clarity and tools needed to find your way back to peace.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT as intervention technique helping clients to identify and change maladaptive behaviors, unhelpful thoughts , emotional reactions. In a few words, I help clients identify the thoughts that shape their emotions and behavior.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
In my experience, ACT is less confrontational than CBT and more compassionate toward difficult emotions. This approach helps clients to allow the emotions instead of fighting them. it works well for anxiety disorders, depression , grief, trauma, etc.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT is a powerful intervention when clients struggle with mood dysregulation, impulsivity, relational instability. As an ecletic tehrapist, I use DBT along with other approaches depending on the situation.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
Although I integrate structured evidence-based modalities, my work is grounded in a person-centered foundation. I prioritize empathy, authenticity, and unconditinal positive regard, believing that a safe therapeutic relationship is the main key component for change.
Grief Therapy
I became very familiar with this therapy during COVID but it is a great intervention when it comes to support clients processing the death of a loved one, divorce, loss of health, miscarriage, loss of identity.
