THERAPY FOR LIFE TRANSITIONS, RELATIONSHIP CHALLENGES, ANXIETY, AND FAMILY CONFLICT Life can feel heavy when you are going through a painful transition. You may be facing divorce, estrangement from an adult child, relationship challenges, a major life change, or a season where nothing feels certain and you’re unsure what comes next. You may find yourself asking, “Was I enough?” “Could I have done something differently?” or “How did my life end up here?” When life looks different than you expected, it can bring anxiety, grief, self-doubt, and uncertainty about the future. Many people I work with feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of who they are becoming in this next chapter of life. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience helping adults navigate difficult life transitions. My approach is warm, supportive, and practical. Together, we’ll make sense of what you’re experiencing, develop effective coping strategies, and help you move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and hope.
FIRST SESSION WE’LL CREATE A SPACE where you can slow down, gain clarity, and begin to feel more grounded in yourself. You don’t need to have everything figured out — this time is dedicated entirely to you and what you’re carrying. YOUR FIRST SESSION is a chance to pause and reflect in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. Therapy is collaborative and tailored to your goals, whether you’re navigating relationship stress, family estrangement, life transitions, or rebuilding after emotional overwhelm. WE’LL SPEND TIME EXPLORING what brought you to therapy, what feels most difficult right now, and what you hope might be different. We’ll also begin identifying patterns in relationships, stress responses, and emotional coping that may be contributing to feeling stuck or disconnected. TOGETHER, WE’LL BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND what support can look like for you. This includes identifying immediate needs for emotional stabilization as well as longer-term goals around boundaries, self-worth, communication, and healing relational wounds. BY THE END OF THE SESSION, you’ll have a clearer sense of how we’ll work together, what your priorities are for therapy, and a grounded starting point for the work ahead.
STRENGTHS CLIENTS DESCRIBE THERAPY WITH ME as warm, grounded, supportive, insightful, and authentic. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are—without judgment, pressure, or the need to have everything figured out. WITH 25 YEARS OF CLINICAL EXPERIENCE in mental health and medical settings, I’ve worked with adults navigating relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and the emotional impact of family conflict and disconnection. Many of the people I work with appear strong and capable on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or alone on the inside. I KNOW FIRSTHAND THAT RELATIONSHIP WOUNDS can leave us questioning ourselves, our choices, and our future. While every person’s story is different, I bring both professional expertise and lived understanding to the work we do together. My goal is to provide a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported as you navigate life’s challenges.
IDEAL CLIENTS YOU MAY BE THE PERSON everyone turns to for support, yet you are struggling to carry the weight of your own challenges. On the outside, you seem to be managing, but inside you feel overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, or unsure of what comes next. YOU MAY BE NAVIGATING a painful divorce, estrangement from an adult child, family conflict, relationship challenges, grief, or a major life transition that has left you questioning your future. Perhaps life looks very different than you expected, and you’re trying to find your footing again. I ALSO WORK WITH young adults who feel lost, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their future. They may be struggling with life direction, career decisions, relationships, self-confidence, or the challenges that come with becoming independent. THE CLIENTS WHO TEND TO BENEFIT MOST from working with me are ready to better understand themselves, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful change in their lives.

Strength-Based
I believe in the power of a strength-based approach to help my clients overcome life's challenges. Everyone has unique strengths and inner resources that can be nurtured to navigate difficulties and foster personal growth. My role is to help you identify and build upon these strengths, enabling you to face challenges with confidence and resilience. In our work together, I focus on empowering you to recognize your abilities and potential. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues or any major life transition, I will help you tap into your inner resources and develop strategies that align with your values and goals. If you are ready to start your journey towards healing, I encourage you to reach out.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use a client-centered and solution-focused approach, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful patterns, challenge negative thinking, and develop more effective ways of responding to stress, anxiety, and relationship challenges. Our work may also include building practical skills such as emotional regulation, communication, and boundary-setting, while incorporating mindfulness and grounding techniques to help you feel more present and in control. I focus on your strengths and support you in making meaningful, realistic changes that improve your day-to-day life.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
Person-Centered Therapy is an important part of how I work, creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can openly explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I believe you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to help you better understand yourself while feeling fully heard and respected. At the same time, I am not a passive therapist. I actively engage in our sessions by offering feedback, insights, and observations to help you see patterns more clearly and move forward. I will gently challenge you when needed, ask meaningful questions, and guide you toward greater self-awareness and change. Our work is collaborative, we focus on what matters most to you while also identifying practical ways to help you feel less stuck. This approach allows you to gain insight, build confidence, and begin making choices that align with the life you want. You can expect both compassion and direction, so you feel supported while also making real, meaningful progress.

I am able to talk during my sessions and share what has been going on with me since the last session. I have not had to worry about being judged and she also share information that is insightful to what I am talking about.

Wendy was so great to talk to. She was so warm and solution oriented, allowing me to think about things and be "mindful". Really enjoyed and can't wait for the next session.
