Welcome to Dr. Mitchell’s Safe and Brave Space
I began my career in social services in 1995, working with children, youth, and families often labeled as “at-risk”—many of whom were impacted by substance use, poverty, child abuse, and neglect. Over time, my commitment to equity and justice led me to the field of social work, where I continue to center the person-in-environment perspective and actively support antiracist policies, ideas, and actions.
This work is grounded in an acknowledgment that we live and practice on the stolen lands of Indigenous peoples, and that much of the wealth and infrastructure of this nation was built through the unpaid labor and enduring suffering of enslaved Africans. I honor these histories and their ongoing impact as part of my commitment to justice, healing, and collective liberation.
I am deeply committed to self-awareness and reflective practice, both personally and with those I serve. I walk alongside clients on a healing journey rooted in self-care, resilience, and transformation.
I integrate narrative therapy and other evidence-informed approaches through the lens of intersectionality to remain fully person-centered. My practice pays particular attention to the impacts of trauma and race-based stress on one’s inner world. As appropriate, I incorporate Feminist Theory, Queer Theory, and Liberation Psychology to support healing that honors identity, lived experience, and systemic context.
I welcome all who value peace, healing, and justice to join me in this space—to try, to grow, and to be.
I’m Kimberly M. Brooks, LCSW. I help adults and couples facing anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship strain, and emotional overwhelm find clarity and peace. My style is warm, direct, and grounding. I offer practical tools, honest insight, and optional faith-integrated support to help you heal, strengthen your relationships, and move forward with confidence. Clients often tell me they appreciate the calm space I create, the clarity that comes from honest conversations, and the steady guidance that helps them move forward.

As a Certified Sex Therapist and CBT-certified therapist, I use an integrative approach to treatment, tailoring therapy to meet your unique needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model. While Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) serves as one foundation of my work, I also incorporate evidence-based techniques from other therapeutic approaches to provide individualized care.
I have experience working with clients facing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, intimacy and sexual concerns, LGBTQIA+ issues, military-related experiences, and major life transitions. Whether you're navigating communication difficulties, rebuilding trust, managing stress, exploring your identity, or working toward greater emotional and relational wellness, I am committed to helping you develop practical skills and lasting insight.

I'll help you to talk about your feelings and help you to make treatment goals that you have been wanting to reach.

Hello! My name is Max Croteau and I have had the pleasure of being a licensed professional counselor for almost 10 years now. In this time, I have been able to mold my style of understanding, accepting while also challenging and motivational into a successful model of growth and change for those who choose to work with me. I truly am a believer that therapy can sometimes be a side-by-side process, or it can be a process where one guides and the other follows, but ultimately the choice is up to you. I don’t want you to live a life that I tell you to live. I want to help you find a life that is truly a genuine fit for yourself and one that you can see yourself living without even having to think about it. I’ve specialized in addiction, OCD, trauma therapy, family and couples counseling and various other topics in the world of mental health. One important factor that I have found is that each person has their own individual story and their journey will be just as individualized. No matter how similar, we are all different. A cookie cutter approach to the rest of your life is not something that you will get from me. I will truly meet you where you are and work with you every step of the way to achieve the success that you are looking for. I always guarantee every person I work with that therapy may not be easy, but in the end, it will be incredibly worthwhile. I’d love to start and/or continue that journey. Growth has no final destination, just the journey. It’s up to you what path you’d like to take.
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker with over 14 years of experience working as a clinician, therapist , and crisis interventionist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, substance use problems, psychosis, and ADHD. I also helped people who have experienced trauma and/or emotional abuse.
I would like to clarify my expertise does not include eating disorders, or pornography addiction, although I do understand some of the symptoms and causes. AGAIN, NO PORN ADDICTIONS, COUPLES COUNSELING, OR MARRIAGE COUNSELING.
My therapy style is genuine and solution focused.. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach is dialectical behavioral based with strengths perspective and motivational interviewing. Any treatment plan to meet your needs will be collaborative, timely, and with measurable goals. Usually following the "S.M.A.R.T." goal format. Specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely.
I have worked extensively in crisis intervention in the agency and on the streets, in hospitals, and in mental health courts and case management agencies, and have managed in this capacity. I also have many years experience related to substance use disorders and have worked as a therapist utilizing primarily Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as my main approach as well as utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy . These tools can be modified in a number of ways to help clients achieve their goals .
Regardless of any experience, upbringing, current, or past situation, everyone has choices they can make that best serves them and the life they want to live.
I look forward to working with you!

Are you a woman facing big decisions? Navigating relationship challenges, family dynamics, parenting difficulties, career pivots? My background shapes how I approach therapy with clients facing such women's issues, which includes years as a licensed mental health counselor, but also as serving in senior leadership within higher education, supporting clients as a transformational coach, and balancing parenting along the way. This mix (and juggling act) gives me a practical understanding of how emotional wellbeing is often shaped by work, caregiving, relationships, and major life responsibilities.
Many of the woman I work with are thoughtful, capable, and carrying more than others realize. They often appear highly functional on the outside while privately feeling overwhelmed, depleted, uncertain, or disconnected from themselves. I help clients slow things down enough to understand what is happening beneath the surface, identify what needs attention, and move forward in ways that feel grounded and realistic.
I am licensed in Washington, Virginia, and Rhode Island, am a nationally certified counselor, and hold a doctorate in adult and higher education. While my colleagues may call me Dr. T, in counseling I'm just Melanie. I'm here to support you, help you find clarity and calm, offer guidance, levity, and a safe space for tears, perimenopausal rage, or a well placed curse word. Together, we find solutions to the barriers keeping you from your next chapter.
I’m a licensed therapist with over 18 years of experience helping adults navigate burnout, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. I work with high-functioning individuals who often appear to have it together on the outside but feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck beneath the surface.
Many of my clients are used to pushing through, taking care of others, and managing everything on their own—until it stops working. They come to me looking for more than just coping strategies. They want to understand what’s driving their patterns and experience real, lasting change.
My approach integrates EMDR, parts work, and nervous system-focused therapy to help you move beyond surface-level solutions. Together, we work to reduce overwhelm, process unresolved experiences, and shift the patterns that keep you feeling stuck.
The impact of this work is more than symptom relief. Clients often begin to feel calmer, more grounded, and clearer in their decisions. They develop a stronger sense of self, improved boundaries, and a greater ability to navigate stress without becoming overwhelmed.
My goal is to create a space where you feel supported, understood, and able to make meaningful progress at a pace that feels right for you. You don’t have to keep doing this alone—change is possible, and it can feel more sustainable than you might expect.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals with complex and high acuity mental health needs. My work is grounded in trauma informed and trauma responsive care, with a strong commitment to creating inclusive, affirming spaces for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent clients, and individuals in rural communities. I work across the lifespan, including children (7+), adults, older adults, families, and couples.
My approach is collaborative and empowering, centered on the belief that clients are the experts in their own lives and require my clinical expertise. I often describe my role as “working myself out of a job” to help clients build the insight, skills, and confidence needed to advocate for themselves and navigate systems independently. As a trauma specialist, I tailor evidence based interventions to each client’s identities, needs, strengths, and goals. My primary approaches include Somatic Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)-(EMDRIA certification pending), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I also integrate Internal Family Systems informed interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, exposure based strategies, mindfulness, and other approaches as clinically appropriate. I adapt treatment for neurodivergent clients and clients with intellectual or developmental disabilities because therapy should adjust to the person and not require the person to adjust to therapy.
I am continually shaped by the courage, insight, and lived experiences clients bring into our work. Every advanced training, specialty, certification, and state license reflect lessons learned from clients. I carry their trust, stories, and influence into every session with gratitude and responsibility.

My professional background includes serving as a crisis response trauma therapist, supporting individuals during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I also have specialized training in adoption competency, helping adoptive families, birth families, and adoptees navigate the unique emotional experiences that can accompany adoption.
In addition, I have experience as a parent educator, partnering with caregivers to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and build healthy family dynamics. My work with veterans and their families has given me a deep appreciation for the unique challenges associated with military service, including trauma, transitions, relationship stress, and reintegration.
I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care to create individualized treatment plans that are practical and effective. Clients often describe me as approachable, supportive, and structured. No matter where you are in your journey, my goal is to meet you with compassion, respect, and evidence-based care that helps you move toward the life you want to live.
Hi, I'm Rachel!
Life can be challenging and unpredictable, it sometimes throws curve balls that catch us completely off guard. It is during those times that we all can use extra support to overcome these obstacles and barriers. I commend you for realizing your need for external support and taking this all-important first step of seeking counseling, although it may be slightly scary and intimidating for you as well as even go against your cultural background.
My counseling style is one of warmth and unconditional acceptance. All sessions are “judgment-free zones.” I provide service that is client-centered and strength-based. I believe that every human being deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. I am a caring, compassionate therapist who can quickly build rapport and provide a safe space.
I have found that therapy works best when we work in partnership together to resolve your issues. You are the expert on your life, it is your job to educate me about your life experiences, your goals and your strengths. It is my job to utilize my professional training and skills as well as years of experience to help you become the best version of yourself. Together, we can make the changes you seek!
Welcome, I am Feven!
Do you feel pulled in a million directions, unable to fit it all in? Are you struggling to keep up with your relationships, work and health? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? I help individuals manage anxiety, depression and burnout. Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to balance. We'll use a whole self approach; addressing the needs of your mind, body and spirit.
I am passionate about helping individuals navigate the different challenges they face and build coping skills to create more fulfilling and holistic life experiences. From my journey, I can personally attest to the power of support, in its many forms. This support goes beyond clients I service but also to their families and communities. I believe that mental wellness isn’t just individualistic; but includes the ecosystem surrounding the person. My praxis acknowledges and aims to support the village needed by all.
I’m also passionate about the transformative impact of safe and brave spaces for those who often experience exclusion. My career has afforded me opportunities to build trust with LGBTQ+, Black, Indigenous, Latina/o/x, and Refugee communities across the nation. It is a personal privilege to center wellness and holistic care for all as ‘self-care is a radical form of resistance.’
Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, trauma, PTSD, self-acceptance, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion, empathy and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back.
Let's work together!
Welcome to my practice!
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and licensed in WA with more than 20 years of experience providing individual, couples, and family therapy. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, anger issues, and self-harm ideation and behaviors. I want to get to know you and what might be happening with you that you are seeking counseling for. Many times people come to therapy when they are in some type of distress. Sometimes this is conscious and sometimes not. If you are struggling or distressed for some reason or grieving a loss in life, ( or not sure but something has changed) I would like to see how we can work in therapy.
The way we work will depend on the issues you bring to therapy. I have experience with different approaches to therapy including but not limited to HUMANISTIC THERAPY (includes the importance of personal responsibility, and a positive, non-judgmental approach), STRUCTURAL FAMILY SYSTEMS (includes the importance of family structure and healthy boundaries), GOTTMAN (includes helping couples communicate better, resolve conflicts constructively, and create a shared sense of meaning), CBT (generally includes a short-term approach that helps you identify and change negative or unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior to improve your mood and overall well-being).

Hello! I am Arwen, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, committed to helping clients begin to live their best lives. Making the decision to seek help is a big step and is the beginning to changing the issues that are interfering with your daily life. I use a safe, holistic, compassionate, and judgement free approach, knowing you are the expert of you. We all have past scars, but they do not need to dictate our future. Please note that I only work with individuals 18 and older. I do not do family or couple's therapy.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State with 9 years of experience supporting individuals through a wide range of challenges. I believe every person has the capacity to create meaningful and lasting change in their life, and that everyone deserves access to quality mental health care.
My approach is grounded in meeting clients where they are, without judgment, while creating a space where they can feel heard, understood, and supported. I have extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, difficult life transitions, and grief and loss.
I work especially well with clients who are ready to take an honest look at where they are in life and are willing to take steps toward where they want to be. Therapy can be difficult work, but you don't have to navigate that process alone. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, work through what is holding you back, and build the tools and confidence needed to move forward.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of California, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington with certification specializing in Women's Mental Health (WMHS-C).

Hi there!
I am Brazilian and I graduated in Psychology 20 years ago - do not do the Math! =)
I have been living in the USA since 2014 and I obtained my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018. I specialized in working with LGBTQIA+ folk, more specifically transgender and non-binary (go They/Them!). Since then, I have expanded my practice and have enjoyed working with folk navigating grief, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and other various mental health symptoms. I provide therapy in 3 languages: English, Portuguese and Spanish.
I am a Certified Grief Informed Professional and also a Trauma specialist.
*** I unfortunately do not work with couples, so if you are seeking couples counseling, I am not a good fit.
*** I have a 15 minutes tardiness tolerance policy, and a fee for no show/late cancel of $150.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas with five years of independent clinical experience and over ten years of experience in human services, case management, vocational rehabilitation services, and working at inpatient and outpatient clinical therapy offices.
I have a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Ohio University, a masters degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health counseling from UNC-Chapel Hill, and a bachelors of science degree in psychology from North Carolina State University.
I chose to get a PhD in counseling because of my desire to help others, and my continuous drive to learn and grow. Therapy was essential to me as a teenager, then as a young adult, and now as a middle-aged adult. I have always found it to be a powerful tool in allowing me to process my thoughts and feelings, both about my past and my future. As a result, I chose to become a therapist, to provide the same support and guidance to the people I work with!
I provide trauma-informed, client-centered counseling with an emphasis on somatic awareness and nervous system regulation. Clients often seek therapy when they feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or constrained by patterns that developed in response to past experiences. My role is to support you in building safety, increasing emotional and physiological regulation, and developing the capacity for meaningful and sustainable change.
My approach is integrative and outcome-focused, combining relational therapy with solution-focused and body-based interventions. Treatment is collaborative and tailored to your goals, with attention to symptom reduction, improved functioning, and increased flexibility in how you respond to internal and external stressors.
Somatic therapy is a central component of my work. With training in yoga therapy, massage therapy, and body-oriented psychotherapy, I incorporate interventions such as grounding techniques, breath regulation, mindfulness practices, guided imagery, and gentle movement when clinically appropriate and with your consent. These approaches support increased interoceptive awareness, reduced trauma-related activation, and a more regulated nervous system. This work is particularly effective for individuals experiencing trauma and PTSD symptoms, anxiety, chronic stress, and disordered eating.
I help clients identify and modify patterns of thinking, feeling, and behavior that no longer support well-being, while also addressing the underlying physiological responses that maintain these patterns. Therapy is relational, structured, and often short- to medium-term, though length of treatment varies based on individual goals and clinical needs. Progress toward goals is reviewed regularly to ensure treatment remains effective and aligned.
Clients are encouraged to ask questions and participate actively in the therapeutic process. Transparency, collaboration, and respect are foundational to my work.
