Out of my 63 years of life in this planet, 28 of those years have been spent assisting others within a diverse number of areas and environments. Narcissistic Abuse/Antagonistic personality style partner or other person in your life? As part of my work with individuals dealing with divorce, widowhood, and coparenting, I provide care and assistance for individuals directly or indirectly involved in relationship with an individual who displays behaviors which may indicate a narcissistic or antagonistic personality style. Note: It is neither possible or ethical for a provider to diagnose an individual who has not come in for assessment/diagnosis/treatment. However, a provider can work with an individual to learn to cope and navigate difficult relationships with difficult individuals. In addition to individual in partner relationships with such an individual, I also work with family members who are struggling with how to relate, support, and cope with a loved one who appears to be entangled in such a relationship. Complex circumstances need to be considered in deciding whether to remain in the relationship or to consider it's necessary to consider leaving. For folks who have separated or divorced from such a situation, the recovery and aftermath intervention and support is often needed on order to heal, restore, and recover. If children and the courts are involved, there are additional areas to address. I also provide care for adults who are highly intelligent and possibly/likely on the spectrum. Regardless of or whether an adult is diagnosable with autism, being highly intelligent can present with social and emotional challenges. On the side, I enjoy writing, performing, teaching, and recording music, both vocal and guitar. I have been teaching/empowering "non-singers" to sing for over 30 years with a therapeutic program I have developed called "Singing in the Shower."

Hi, I'm Amanda. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you’ve tried everything and nothing is quite working, you’re not alone. I work with adults in Minnesota and North Dakota who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, burnout, and ongoing stress. Many clients feel overworked, emotionally drained, or caught in patterns of overthinking and want to feel more grounded and in control again. My approach is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based, relational, and person-centered therapy, and I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma. My goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself, understand patterns, and build practical tools for meaningful change.

Welcome — this is a space where you can be honest, seen, and understood. I’m Shakea “Kea” Roper, LCSW, and I bring 15 years of clinical and life experience to our therapeutic partnership. If you’ve ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or burdened by cycles that just won’t shift — I see you. I specialize in helping people manage anxiety, depression, racing or intrusive thoughts, life transitions, and relational struggle. My style is active, grounded, and rooted in both compassion and challenge. Many clients say: “Kea listens like no one else — and she’s not afraid to stretch me when I need it.” I integrate evidence-based approaches (CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused, Strengths-Based, Brief Therapy) along with more specialized models: Making Sense of Your Worth (MSoYW): an 8-week group curriculum developed by HALO Project where we explore and heal the internal “lies” we believe about ourselves, rebuild toward positive self-worth and secure attachment. Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT): a structured, cognitive-behavioral system where we work through step-by-step exercises to enhance reasoning, decision-making, and a healthier identity (beyond self-destructive or impulsive patterns). I also actively engage in community work, and I’m currently pursuing my doctorate (which continues to deepen my perspective and rigor). Outside of sessions, you’ll often find me at board game night, crafting, or spending time with family. It’s an honor to walk alongside you. Nelson Mandela said, “Everything seems impossible until it’s done.” Let’s work together toward the possible. I’m currently accepting clients in Pennsylvania, Missouri, Kansas, Utah, North Dakota, and Nevada.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
