First of all, I love what I do and to witness the positive changes clients make in their lives as a result of choosing therapy to help them accomplish what they want. Often the goal is to achieve symptom relief so as to not be overwhelmed by anxiety, mood disorders or be better able to manage the challenges of ADHD. Sometimes there is not a specific outcome identified but a need for ongoing support for dealing with life transitions or difficult people. Sometimes clients use therapy as a confidential sounding board where they can talk to an objective outsider about situations and sort out their perspective. I offer various ways to see and respond to situations that might otherwise not be considered. Your opinion as a client is the most important one and I will also honestly provide mine when asked for. I believe therapy can actually be something that you can look forward to and an opportunity to learn new skills to use long after you discontinue, and we can even have some fun and laughs along the journey.

Hi, I’m Laura and I am so glad you're here. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Pennsylvania and Maryland with nearly 20 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings—including outpatient therapy, in-home family support, schools, and medical social work—which has given me a broad perspective on the many ways people experience struggle and resilience. I work with clients facing depression, anxiety, relationship and family conflicts, grief and loss, parenting challenges, life transitions, ADHD and trauma. My therapeutic approach draws from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths-Based Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based. Most importantly, I bring a genuine, open-minded, and non-judgmental presence to our sessions. I believe that therapy works best when it’s grounded in trust, honesty, and collaboration. Whether you’re looking for tools to manage a specific challenge or simply need a safe space to process and be heard, I’m here to support you. My goal is to create a supportive environment where we can have real conversations—sometimes difficult, always compassionate—and work together toward growth and healing. I’d be honored to walk alongside you through this process.

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, who has served Southern Maryland and the DC metropolitan area for over 20 years. A Nationally Board Certified Counselor, and a member of the American Counseling Association, and fully insured through HPSO. As a former Law Enforcement Officer, I am passionate about assisting those who have served as first responders and in the military; treating PTSD, and a focus on vicarious or secondary trauma. I also have a passion for working with children and adults diagnosed with ADHD. This often misdiagnosed and under-reported neurodevelopment disorder is stigmatized and misrepresented as being “lazy” or “unmotivated”, while understating the extreme barriers that contribute to one’s ability to meet societal norms of being goal or task oriented and organized. I love to help clients see the magic of their A-Typical Brains and bring light to all of the various challenges that a person with ADHD encounters in day to day life. Learning to leverage their differences as an asset and not a deficit by assisting them in creating opportunities for growth and success; through development of adaptive coping skills

I believe that everyone deserves a safe, supportive space where they can feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and personalized because I understand that there is no one-size-fits-all path to healing. I am Juliana Sarkodee a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I am glad that you are taking steps to address issues in your life and gain clarity on how to cope. I have worked with clients to identify anxious thoughts/ADHD symptoms/, depression/, stress/ relationship /self-esteem/ trauma/ grief, and identify coping skills they utilized in the past, and identify new coping skills in the short term and long term. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, proudly continuing a family legacy of service and commitment to helping others. With over a decade of experience, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, including hospitals, home health, outpatient centers, and most recently within a K–12 school system. Throughout my career, I have considered it a true privilege to support individuals during some of their most vulnerable and transformative moments. I specialize in individual therapy and am now opening my practice to teens. My recent experience as a School Social Worker allowed me to provide direct therapeutic services to students across all grade levels, supporting them through anxiety, depression, academic stress, peer and family challenges, and crisis situations. This chapter feels especially meaningful, as I originally pursued my education with the goal of becoming a School Social Worker. In many ways, this transition represents a full-circle moment in my professional journey. I bring the insight, developmental understanding, and collaborative approach from the school setting into my practice, offering teens and their families compassionate, structured, and informed support.

My name is Circe Dunwoody. I am a license psychotherapist. In my psychotherapy practice I help couples and individuals to overcome life difficulties by using cognitive behavior therapy. Many couples and individuals feel overwhelmed by the desire to balance the high demands from work and family life. They report feelings of emptiness and loss of drive. Some report feeling of depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. Others contemplate divorce as a solution to decrease the pressure they are internalizing. You can contact me for help if you are experiencing some of the feelings I have mentioned above, and you are ready to make changes in your life. l work with couples and individuals in a safe and confidential platform environment. In life we all need support and understanding from others. Sometimes the best solution is to seek professional help. Having emotional support is extremely helpful. Relying on friends or family members is also helpful. However, you may not want to overwhelm them with problems. The most intelligent solution is seeking professional help.

Are you feeling depressed and anxious? Are you finding your life is in turmoil because you have to make a change? Maybe you are changing careers or jobs, you’re recently divorced, your home is now an empty nest, or you are retiring. These are only a few of life’s transitions that can bring on depression and anxiety. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the therapy I use most often, states that A (Antecedent action or event) + B (our belief about that antecedent action or event) = Consequences, (depression or happiness). If you think of a transition or event (A) as a negative experience (B), you will experience the consequences of your belief, as depression and anxiety (C-negative) or as happiness and excitement (C-positive). Unfortunately, many of us view a transition or change as a bad thing, a time when we are facing the unknown without a map. I would like to help you see change as an opportunity, a time for growth and exploration. Come with me. Together we can make change a positive force for a bright future. please schedule appoints only on the hour.😀
