I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (Utah) and Professional Counselor (Alaska) with 30 years of experience working as a mental health and substance abuse counselor. I work with clients with a wide range of concerns including PTSD, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, family and relationship issues, and interpersonal violence. My counseling style is informed by my foundational belief in individual autonomy and agency. I believe it is my role to empower clients to achieve their full potential and destiny in a strong and healthy manner. I view my clients as the experts in their own lives and do my best to minimize the power differential that frequently occurs in counseling relationships. Clients who have had unsatisfactory experiences with other therapists have thrived in my practice and found resolution within just a few sessions.

Hello! I am a licensed social worker (LICSW) who has been working in the medical setting for 9 years, helping patients and their families navigate chronic medical conditions. Because of my role at the hospital, I am also a Certified Clinical Transplant Social Worker (CCTSW), meaning I have expertise in organ transplant. I am from the east coast originally but spent most of my life in the Midwest and completed undergrad at Michigan State University before moving to Washington DC to complete Americorps service and attend graduate school at the Catholic University of America. I graduated in 2015 with my Masters in Social Work (MSW). Despite the name of my school, the social work program was secular. After receiving my MSW, I moved to Seattle and began working as a medical social worker in the hospital setting. I realized that the moments that bring me the most fulfillment are the ones where I am engaged 1:1 and providing individuals with support, therapeutic intervention, encouragement, and coaching. I decided to open a therapy practice to allow me to provide this support outside the hospital. To this end, I completed a year-long therapist training program in Expressive Arts Therapy at Seattle's Northwest Creative & Expressive Arts Institute. I am working towards becoming a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT). Outside of work, I love being outdoors with my family, going on adventures with my nieces, thrift-store wandering, having soul-enriching conversations with friends, and finding opportunities to dance.

I’ve spent nearly two decades working in behavioral health, supporting people through trauma, anxiety, depression, and major life challenges. I believe healing happens best in a space where you feel safe, respected, and truly heard. My work is especially grounded in supporting individuals who have felt marginalized or overlooked, and I approach therapy with compassion, curiosity, and care. My style is collaborative and personalized. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor our work to your needs, goals, and pace. I draw from well-researched therapy approaches that focus on building emotional awareness, processing difficult experiences, and strengthening coping skills. Together, we focus on helping you feel more grounded, confident, and empowered as you move forward in your life.

I’m a mental health professional with a deep and varied background in education, counseling, human services, and advocacy. Over the years, I’ve worked alongside adults, youth, and families navigating trauma, identity shifts, life transitions, and the lasting weight of systemic challenges like poverty, incarceration, and intergenerational trauma. I don’t just see symptoms, I see people. Whole people. And I meet them exactly where they are.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across the entire state. If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near your address.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Grief, is filtering therapists in Alaska that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
