About me

I’ve been working in behavioral health for nearly two decades, helping people navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, and life’s challenges. I’m passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where healing can happen, especially for those who have felt marginalized or unheard. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each person’s needs, blending evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, Brainspotting, and EFT to support emotional relief, personal growth, and resilience. I work with clients to process difficult experiences, build practical skills, and strengthen coping strategies so they can feel more grounded, empowered, and confident in their lives. Together, we focus on creating meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels safe and achievable.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first session, I’ll introduce myself and take time to learn about what brought you to therapy, the challenges you’re experiencing, and the goals you’d like to work toward. We’ll review your personal and mental health history so I can better understand your unique experiences and needs. I’ll explain the evidence-based interventions I offer, such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, Brainspotting, and EFT, and discuss how these approaches might be helpful for you. You’ll also receive some practical tools that you can start using right away to manage stress, emotions, or other concerns. I encourage you to ask questions at any time, and I’ll provide guidance or referrals if there are additional resources or supports that could benefit you. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative, and supportive space so that you feel comfortable exploring your experiences and beginning your journey toward growth and healing.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I began my career in social work to support vulnerable populations, particularly children and families affected by abuse and neglect. Since then, I have advocated for minority communities, contributed to advancing healthcare practices, and worked with a wide range of diverse populations. My greatest strength is creating a safe, nurturing, and calm environment where clients feel supported in exploring deeply personal experiences. My approach is non-judgmental, gentle, and collaborative, honoring each person’s unique story and pace. I draw from evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, Brainspotting, and EFT, tailoring interventions to meet the individual needs and goals of each client. Clients often find that this combination of warmth, structure, and expertise helps them feel understood, empowered, and equipped to make meaningful change in their lives.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in supporting individuals who are seeking healing from post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I also work with clients navigating co-occurring challenges such as ADHD, grief and loss, substance use, and legal or life-related stressors. I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can feel truly heard and understood, no matter your background or circumstances. Together, we explore your experiences, develop practical coping skills, and create strategies that foster emotional balance, resilience, and self-empowerment. My goal is to help you feel more confident in navigating life’s challenges and move toward meaningful, lasting change that aligns with your values and goals.

My treatment methods

Brainspotting

I’ve been practicing Brainspotting for the past year after being introduced to it in my trauma-focused work, and it has quickly become one of the most powerful tools I use in therapy. Brainspotting helps identify where emotional pain, trauma, or unresolved experiences are held in the body, allowing the brain to process and release them in a gentle, natural way. Clients often find that this approach helps reduce the emotional intensity of painful memories while creating space for clarity, relief, and deeper healing. Together, we move at a pace that feels safe, supporting your nervous system as it works through what has felt “stuck” to make room for resolution and growth.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT since becoming a master’s-level clinician 15 years ago, and it remains one of the core approaches I incorporate into my work. CBT helps clients understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another, creating space for meaningful shifts in how they feel and function. I often blend CBT with other evidence-based interventions, tailoring the approach to fit each person’s unique needs and goals. Many clients find that CBT provides practical tools, increased insight, and effective strategies for managing the symptoms they’re experiencing.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I’ve been using DBT in both individual and group therapy settings to support clients who struggle with intense or overwhelming emotions. This approach offers practical skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and healthier communication—tools that can be life-changing when navigating difficult moments. I often blend DBT with other psychotherapy interventions to create a balanced, personalized approach that fits each client’s needs. Together, we work on building emotional resilience and finding steadier, more compassionate ways of responding to life’s challenges.

EMDR

I’ve been using EMDR since 2013 and have helped hundreds of clients experience positive outcomes, both in the short and long term. EMDR is a powerful therapy that supports healing from trauma, anxiety, depression, phobias, and many other challenges by helping the brain process and release distressing experiences. I am highly skilled in guiding clients safely through this process, creating a supportive environment where they can move toward relief, clarity, and lasting recovery.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I’ve been using EFT in therapy for the past five to seven years, often in combination with other evidence-based interventions. EFT helps clients release emotional tension by gently tapping on specific points while focusing on their thoughts or feelings, creating a sense of calm and balance. Many clients find it offers quick relief from stress, anxiety, and overwhelming emotions, helping them feel more grounded and centered. I integrate EFT in a way that complements each client’s unique needs, supporting their journey toward emotional wellness and resilience.
