I'm a dual board-certified NP (psychiatric mental health and general/ family practice) with additional advanced training in obesity care through the Obesity Medicine Association. I am here to support, educate, and when appropriate, prescribe medication. If you are ready to consider medication, put in the work needed for lasting improvement in your mental health, and are committed to consistent regular appointments, then I may be the right mental health professional for you! Patients may be seen by telehealth, or by limited availability in person in the Lynchburg, VA (Forest) area. Please note: You will be sent additional forms from my office, Lifesong Health, to complete in Optimantra patient portal. You will have forms and appointment reminders from both Optimantra/ Lifesong Health and Grow Therapy. Forms must be completed 24 hours before visits or face possible appointment cancellation. Please be mindful of checking your email, completing forms and consents prior to the appointment, and being on time to the appointment. If you are late or cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, you will be subject to a late or no show fee. I will not/ cannot prescribe controlled substances (stimulants, others) via telehealth due to changes in DEA rules (Ryan Haight Act). You must be able to be seen in person in Forest, VA. I practice conservatively with controlled medication and may not be the right fit for some patients. Past records will be reviewed.
In our first session together, we will review past history, current problems, and then craft a future plan with the possibility of discussing medication options, therapies, and frequency of visits.
I am passionate about helping others successfully manage mental and emotional concerns. I care about my patients and work gently toward solutions. I see patients in person and by telehealth.
