PMHNP, 15 years of experience
Hi! I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Massachusetts Global, and I’ve been working in the field for over 15 years. I specialize in caring for adolescents and adults, with experience in different clinical settings. My approach focuses on truly understanding my patients' mental health needs and working together to help them lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. help young adults struggling with career stress and burnout become the best versions of themselves.
In our first session, we'll begin with brief introductions and then explore the specific challenges you're experiencing. This approach allows me to understand your needs and develop a personalized plan for us to work on together in future sessions, ensuring that our work is targeted and effective in helping you achieve your mental health goals.
With over 15 years of experience, I’ve developed a trusted method to help people understand what’s causing their mental health struggles and create personalized plans to feel better. I work with teens and adults, using a mix of medication, therapy, and lifestyle changes to provide the right support for each person. I also check in regularly to make sure the plan is working and make any needed adjustments, so my clients can lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
I love working with adolescents and adults who are striving to improve their mental health but may not yet have the tools to make it a reality. My clients often feel stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious about various aspects of their lives, whether it's managing emotions, navigating relationships, or coping with life’s challenges. They are motivated to create positive change, and I’m here to guide them in developing the skills and strategies they need to move forward and achieve a healthier, more fulfilling life.
I treat anxiety using a comprehensive approach that combines medication, therapy, and lifestyle interventions tailored to each patient’s unique needs. The treatment plan is guided by the individual’s symptoms, severity, and overall health, ensuring a personalized and effective strategy. I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which I have found to be one of the most effective therapies for anxiety. It helps patients identify and challenge negative thought patterns while developing practical coping skills. For many of my patients, a combination of medication and therapy has proven to yield the best results, allowing for a more holistic approach to managing anxiety. Regular follow-ups are essential to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments, ensuring that treatment remains effective and aligned with the patient’s evolving needs.
In my work as a Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner, I integrate supportive treatment as a key component of care. This approach focuses on creating a safe, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered. Through active listening, validation, and encouragement, I help individuals explore their experiences, build on personal strengths, and develop practical coping strategies to manage symptoms and improve daily functioning. Supportive treatment is woven into every session—whether we are discussing medication management, navigating life stressors, or processing emotional challenges. My goal is to meet patients where they are, provide compassionate guidance, and partner with them in achieving meaningful progress toward mental and emotional well‑being.
