Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients can expect to gain better awareness of self, confidence, and learn skills that increase mindfulness and psychological flexibility.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe the client is the expert within their own life and my participation is to assist in discovering and uncovering their true self to address wants and needs. I believe in treating others with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. From a strength-based approach, treatment will be tailored to the client.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Young to middle aged adults who might be struggling with life transitions, single episodic or chronic depression, and/or anxiety. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to learn new skills and achieve psychological flexibility to alleviate problematic thinking and commit to a life of fulfilling an action-oriented life that aligns with their values. I have also worked with individuals struggling with such disorders as ADHD, PTSD, OCD, eating disorders, and self-harm behaviors.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

My experience using ACT has ultimately been a positive starting point with clients as it begins with exploring and identifying one's values and strengths. I have seen that exploring such values and strengths help the client begin to evaluate where they are in the present aligning with those values and how to get aligned should they feel values have been neglected. Acknowledging strengths is a way to begin self-esteem exploration and get to some underlying thought processes and beliefs about self that ultimately impact the way someone sees themselves as person.
