(he/him)
Hi, I’m Micah (he/him), a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I provide affirming, trauma-informed care to LGBTQIA+ individuals, BIPOC communities, and others navigating identity, relationships, and life transitions. My approach is strength-based and humanistic—I believe you are the expert on your own experience, and I’m here to support you in uncovering what healing and growth look like for you. I’m not here to give you a one-size-fits-all answer or sell you a quick fix. Instead, I offer a grounded, collaborative space where we can explore patterns, values, and goals together. I know therapy can feel vulnerable, and I work to build trust through honesty, warmth, and a deep respect for the complexity of who you are. If you’re feeling stuck, curious, or ready for change, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
In our first session, we'll take time to get to know each other—there’s no pressure to dive into everything all at once. I’ll ask about what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping to get out of it, and any past experiences (good or bad) you’ve had with therapy. We’ll also talk about your support systems, daily stressors, and anything else that feels important to share. I want to understand not just what’s going on, but how you’re showing up to this space and what matters most to you. This is also a chance for you to get a feel for my style—collaborative, affirming, and honest—and for us to begin setting mutual expectations. I’ll share how I work, answer any questions you have, and we’ll pin down things like scheduling, communication preferences, and next steps together. The first session is really about building a foundation of trust and comfort. You set the pace. I’m here to meet you where you’re at.
My greatest strengths lie in creating a space where people feel seen, respected, and never judged. I bring a grounded, human approach to therapy—rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and deep respect for your lived experience. Clients often tell me they feel safe to show up as their full selves, even when things feel messy or uncertain. I’m skilled at helping clients untangle complex thoughts and emotions, identify patterns, and move toward choices that feel aligned with their values. I ask thoughtful questions, offer honest reflections, and stay flexible in my approach—drawing from strength-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices. I show up with humility, humor, and a real commitment to walking alongside you, not ahead of you.
I work best with clients who are curious, reflective, and ready to explore their identity, relationships, or life direction—even if they’re not quite sure where to start. Many of the folks I work with hold marginalized identities, including LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals, and are seeking a space where they don’t have to over-explain or shrink parts of themselves. My ideal clients may be navigating transitions, unpacking family or cultural expectations, healing from trauma, or simply trying to make sense of who they are and what they want. Some come to therapy feeling burned out, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. Others are looking for a space to feel seen and understood for the first time. You don’t have to have it all figured out. If you’re open to showing up authentically—and maybe with a little humor along the way—we’ll be a good fit.

My approach is strength-based while implementing a humanistic perspective, focusing on your individual strengths, experiences, and resilience. Never am I going to claim to have all the answers, and I won’t sell you on any false narratives. When solutions aren’t clear, my focus will always be on collaborating with you to find what truly works for you.
Above all else, I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive space for individuals of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, religions, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I recognize and work to overcome my own biases and prejudices every day. I will be honest with myself about areas where I need to grow and take proactive steps to do so.
