*As of June 2026, I am only accepting new referrals for folks in network with Kaiser and/or private pay. Hi, hello, howdy! Fancy seeing you here. I suppose this is the part where I share if you'd be my "optimal client" but I would rather let you decide if you feel like I would be your “optimal" therapist. My therapeutic focus is increasing awareness of environments and everyday situations, opening one’s perception of life choices, and intensifying feelings of empowerment and liberation in our work together. My CBT/Solution Focused style is interactive and fun while honoring my client’s relationships, helping them discover what is truly needed from these relationships and inspiring them to live authentically. I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 5 years of experience in providing mental health services. I have a B.S. in Social Work from Sacramento State and an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from University of San Francisco. I am certified in mental health nutrition via PESI, and have training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, as well as Trauma Focused-CBT. I’ve had the privilege of working in community mental health, group practice, and in a university health center with a very wide variety of age ranges, presenting concerns, and communities. I feel that these experiences have given me a broad and rich overview of the human experience across the lifespan and have made me a better practitioner. Currently, I am an LMFT at CSU Sacramento in their health & wellness center on-campus supporting college students with their mental health, and conducting telehealth private practice via Grow during the evenings Monday-Thursday.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first hour session will consist of informed consent (legal & ethical requirements), then various open-ended questions to best gather information on you to begin building rapport/establish a treatment goal that best supports you/ your goals. I believe that good therapy is founded just as much on who we are in our relationship as on what we do in our session. I enjoy creating meaningful, deep connections with people

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am fully licensed working professional who shows up authentically myself to best allow for client’s to feel emotionally safe to do so as well over time in a professional setting.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

As a licensed therapist, I’ve come to learn that therapy works best when there’s a strong fit between client and clinician. While I welcome individuals from all walks of life, I do my best work with clients who are ready to engage, reflect, and actively participate in their growth. I’m especially passionate about supporting men’s mental health. Too often, men are taught to suppress emotions, “push through,” or avoid seeking help altogether. I believe therapy can be a powerful space to challenge those narratives, one where vulnerability is not weakness, but strength. My goal is to help normalize conversations around mental health and create an environment where men feel understood, respected, and empowered. I also work well with clients who appreciate a more coaching-oriented approach. If you’re someone who values direct feedback, practical tools, and goal-oriented conversations, we’ll likely be a good fit. Therapy with me is collaborative. While I have a fair bit of training and experience with behavioral therapy approaches, I consider myself to be a humanist at heart.

I began my sessions with Jake when it felt like I was trapped in a deep well. No matter how hard I clawed at the walls, I kept slipping… staying stuck in old wounds thinking I could change the past. Jake has a gift of really seeing me. He gently held up a mirror and helped me see the ways I was chaining myself to the past and sabotaging my future. Jake has taught me to be in the present, helping me see my future will not be defined by my past. For the first time in a long time, I have hope.
