Hi, my name is Racquel Smith, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida. Do you feel overwhelmed and pulled in a million directions? Are you struggling to have effective and open communication with your loved ones? Do you find it difficult navigating your way through life? If you answered yes to any of those questions then you’ve come to the right place. Together, we can identify what’s not working and get you on the road to your happy place. I work with clients to identify their strengths and how to use them successfully while navigating through life. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including infertility, parenting, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, loss and grief. My treatment style is laid back but warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person centered therapy, solution focused therapy, strength based therapy, and motivational interviewing. I also look at a person’s strength because we are always our biggest critic. I believe everyone has tools in their tool box to build on their strengths and I am here to guide you there. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I meet my clients where they are and work collaboratively, at their pace, to make them feel safe and supported. It takes courage to seek help for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support, and empower you to do the work. If there are no available time slots please message me as I maybe able to to accommodate you. I look forward to working with you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will start off with brief introductions, then jump into specific challenges you are facing. This will help me create a specific plan for us to work through in the follow up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I listen to my clients and sit alongside them while they drive their vehicle. I am a passenger and guide to assist you on your journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This goal of treatment is to help individuals identify, challenge, and change maladaptive thought patterns in order to change their responses to difficult situations.

Couples Counseling

Many couples on the verge of splitting up seek therapy, either to determine whether the relationship can be saved or to navigate the breakup in the healthiest way possible. I've worked with couples for many years. The focus is always to teach each of them how to listen and understand the other. When we listen to understand we communicate better. Grief

Grief Therapy

Grief affects us all in different ways and at some point we will all encounter it. I work with individuals to help them process their pain of grief by understand it and the ways it manifests in daily life. This way they can learn how to get through the pain and cultivate a sense of hope again.

Strength-Based

I believe we all have strengths but most of the time we don't focus of them. This approach works with individuals to identify their strengths and help them re-gain the confidence and motivation they need to achieve their individual goals with guidance from the therapist.

Psychoeducation

With most clients psychoeducation is important because it provides people with information about their mental health or illness, as well as coping skills to help them manage their symptoms. This method provides information about treatment options and resources for support.
