Hello! My name is Justine Vaughn, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and a Certified First Responder Counselor. I graduated with my Masters degree in 2019 and have worked in a variety of counseling settings in order to gain experience and grow professionally. I have been working in the counseling field since 2012, and have experience working with adolescents and adults who have been dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and substance use problems. I am currently in training for EMDR, and am trained in CBT, CPT, and other therapy modalities. I work to help individuals achieve their counseling goals in order for them to better manage their emotions, feelings, and behaviors in order for them to become the person they aim to be.
During their first session, clients can expect to spend time getting to know one another, building rapport, and identifying their main reason for seeking out counseling. This will set the foundation for the goals and objectives that are set in order to help them address their concerns.
My greatest strengths as a provider are my compassion, empathy, and non-judgmental approach. As a counselor, my goal is to create a space for an individual to feel comfortable enough to open up and begin to explore their challenges, successes, and ways that they can begin working towards the life they want without feeling judged.
Justine Vaughn offers therapy covered by UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Texas.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been a treatment modality within my practice over the past several years. This therapeutic approach is intended to help a person change unhealthy thoughts and beliefs that have had a negative impact on their self image, relationships with others, and even in their day-to-day life. The goal of CBT is to teach a person how to utilize skills that can help identify these problematic thoughts and begin implementing more accurate thoughts and beliefs which can improve how a person sees ones self, others, and the world. Together, we will walk through the process of you learning to identify these unhelpful thoughts, gaining the skills to challenge them and explore their accuracy, and lastly, coming to think and believe something that is more promoting of personal growth and change.
I am currently in training for EMDR in order to provide an evidenced based approach to effectively treat trauma and PTSD within individuals who are having difficulties with the many symptoms that can be present. I am also certified to work with first responders who have experienced trauma and/or PTSD.
Cognitive processing therapy is a method directed at addressing problematic thoughts and beliefs surrounding a traumatic experience. The goal of CPT is to teach a person how to utilize skills that can help identify these problematic thoughts and begin implementing more accurate thoughts and beliefs which can improve how a person sees ones self, others, and the world.
