Welcome and kamusta! My name is Diode pronounced like "Jodi." I'm an able-bodied Queer Filipinx-American Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing virtual therapy across California. I help adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship patterns that feel hard to shift alone. My work is trauma informed and integrates EMDR, attachment based therapy, and nervous system regulation to support lasting healing.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is a space to talk about what’s been weighing on you and what you hope might feel different in your life. We’ll explore your current challenges, relevant background, and begin identifying areas to focus on. You can also ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My approach I help clients understand the deeper patterns behind anxiety, trauma, and relationship struggles. Using EMDR, attachment based therapy, and somatic awareness, we work to process experiences at the root while building tools for emotional regulation, clarity, and self trust. My communication style My communication style is warm, calm, helpful, and good-natured. I aim to create a safe space where my client feels comfortable and brave to share. I take pride in being grounded, non-judgmental and maintaining unconditional positive regard for my clients. My journey to therapy I've always been described as a "bridge," someone who thrives in making connections, seeking understanding, and helping others. My lived experiences as a teacher, non-profit professional, community advocate, and hospice social worker drew me to therapy. I enjoy seeing others change the relationship they have with all aspects of themselves.

You carry trauma, anxiety, or grief that shows up as overthinking, shutdown, people pleasing, or feeling disconnected from yourself and others. You want relief, clarity, and emotional steadiness not just coping. You’re ready to understand your patterns, process what’s been stored in your body, and finally feel grounded, present, and whole again. I offer trauma informed therapy and EMDR to help you process painful experiences at the root, not just manage symptoms. My work blends nervous system regulation, insight, and compassion to support lasting change, emotional safety, and reconnection to self. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you’re used to holding it together alone. You don’t have to have the right words or be in crisis to begin. Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT is a mindfulness-based treatment method that we'll use to help you stay focused on the present moment and accept your thoughts in a nonjudgmental way so that you can act in alignment with your values. We'll learn ways to accept and diffuse unhelpful thoughts and strong emotions so that you can use that energy towards accomplishing your goals.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT one of the most helpful ways to treat anxiety and depression. We'll work on identifying how your thoughts, feelings, and actions interact and influence each other. We'll work to change unhelpful thoughts and dysfunctional beliefs to change unhelpful behavior and emotional states to more desirable and healthier behaviors.
EMDR
I am trained in EMDR, an evidence based therapy used to help people process trauma and distressing life experiences. EMDR helps the brain reprocess memories that feel “stuck,” allowing them to become less emotionally overwhelming. Through this process, clients often experience relief from symptoms and develop more adaptive beliefs about themselves and their experiences.
