I’m a board-certified Licensed Professional Counselor with a doctorate in psychology and over 20 years of experience supporting adults through anxiety, trauma, grief, and life transitions. I believe therapy should be a safe, collaborative space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to grow. My approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity to heal and thrive. I use evidence-based treatment methods tailored to each client’s needs, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, mindfulness, solution-focused techniques, and person-centered therapy. When requested, I integrate Christian faith into therapy to support healing, provide spiritual perspective, and align emotional work with personal values. I work well with clients who are ready to explore emotional patterns, past experiences, or stressors that may be keeping them stuck. Whether you’re overwhelmed by anxiety, processing trauma, grieving a loss, or seeking deeper self-understanding, I aim to meet you where you are and walk with you at a pace that feels right. My clinical work is informed by ongoing professional development, national conference training, and active membership in the American Counseling Association, the American Psychological Association, and The National Society of Leadership and Success. I strive to offer a thoughtful, affirming space where you can build insight, resilience, and a grounded sense of self. Therapy with me is a partnership — one that honors your voice, your goals, and your capacity for meaningful change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, my primary focus is to create a calm, welcoming space where you can begin to feel emotionally safe and understood. We’ll take time to get to know one another, and I’ll invite you to share what’s bringing you to therapy — whether it’s a specific concern, a life change, or simply a desire to feel better or gain clarity. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. You’re welcome to start wherever you feel most comfortable. I’ll ask gentle, open-ended questions to understand what you’re experiencing and what you’d like to work on over time. If you’re not sure where to begin, that’s okay — many clients come to therapy feeling uncertain, and it’s my role to help guide the process at your pace. I may ask about your background, support system, or any previous therapy experiences to better understand how to tailor our work together. We’ll also begin identifying early goals, discuss the structure of sessions, and talk briefly about confidentiality and expectations, so you feel informed and supported from the beginning. Above all, I want you to walk away from our first session feeling heard — and with a sense that this is a space where you don’t have to carry things alone.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to create a calm, affirming space where clients feel emotionally safe, seen, and accepted. Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and easy to talk to, which helps reduce anxiety about opening up — especially in the early stages of therapy. I also bring over two decades of clinical experience and advanced training in anxiety, trauma, grief, and life transitions. This background allows me to offer a wide range of tools, insights, and evidence-based strategies, while still tailoring everything to the unique needs of each person I work with. I’m able to gently guide clients toward deeper understanding, while respecting their pace and honoring their lived experiences. Another strength is my ability to hold both structure and flexibility — to support clients in staying focused on their goals while allowing room for emotional processing and reflection. I integrate faith-based support for clients who request it, offering space for spiritual growth alongside emotional healing. I value the balance of professionalism, intuition, and compassion. I show up consistently, listen deeply, and provide feedback that is honest, kind, and constructive. Whether a client is in crisis or seeking growth, I aim to be a steady and empowering presence throughout their therapy journey.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I’m best positioned to serve adult clients who are navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, or significant life transitions — particularly those who may appear high-functioning in daily life, yet feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected internally. Many of my clients are caregivers, professionals, or deeply responsible individuals who have spent years tending to others but haven’t had the space to tend to themselves. These clients are often thoughtful, insightful, and open to emotional exploration, even if they’re unsure where to begin. They may find themselves repeating relational patterns, feeling anxious without clear cause, grieving past losses, or struggling to fully trust themselves. I support individuals who want to break free from long-standing emotional patterns, deepen their self-awareness, and build more authentic, grounded ways of being. I also work well with clients who want therapy to reflect their Christian faith. I honor each person’s spiritual journey and offer faith-based integration when requested, weaving biblical principles with clinical insight to promote healing that aligns with a client’s values. Clients who thrive in therapy with me are often ready to be gently challenged in a space that’s affirming and respectful. They appreciate warmth, steadiness, and structure, and are seeking support that goes deeper than surface-level coping. While I welcome a wide range of clients, I work best with those who are open to long-term healing and meaningful change — individuals who may feel weary, but are willing to take the next step toward understanding and wholeness.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

My approach to Christian counseling is client-centered, compassionate, and respectful of each individual’s faith journey. For those who request it, I integrate biblical principles with evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help explore challenges, promote healing, and deepen spiritual and emotional growth. I believe that faith can be a powerful source of strength, guidance, and restoration, and I work collaboratively to ensure that spiritual values are honored throughout the therapeutic process. With over 20 years of experience, I’ve supported clients in aligning their emotional well-being with their Christian beliefs—whether navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, or relationship issues. Faith-based therapy can be as structured or subtle as you prefer, and is always tailored to your comfort level and spiritual background.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change patterns of thinking and behavior that may be contributing to emotional distress. CBT is a highly effective, structured approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions. Together, we examine unhelpful thinking patterns, build insight, and develop practical tools to manage anxiety, depression, trauma responses, and everyday stressors. With over two decades of experience, I tailor CBT interventions to fit each client’s unique goals and pace. Whether you’re navigating overwhelming emotions, self-doubt, or life transitions, CBT can help you build healthier habits of mind and move toward lasting change.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy helps clients become more present, grounded, and self-aware. I incorporate mindfulness techniques to support emotional regulation, reduce anxiety, and increase clarity during difficult moments. Whether we practice breathing exercises, body awareness, or simply learning how to observe thoughts without judgment, mindfulness can deepen your connection to yourself and the present moment. Mindfulness is often integrated alongside other approaches like CBT or trauma-focused work. It's especially helpful for clients seeking greater calm, emotional balance, and a gentler way of relating to their thoughts and experiences.

Trauma Informed Care

As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I provide trauma-informed care that emphasizes safety, empowerment, and trust. I recognize how past trauma can impact current emotions, relationships, and behaviors, and I approach every client with compassion, patience, and respect for their unique story. My goal is to help you feel in control of your healing process and to support your pace every step of the way. Trauma-informed care is woven into every aspect of my work, whether we’re addressing anxiety, grief, or long-standing relational wounds. I use evidence-based strategies to reduce distress, build resilience, and help you reconnect with your sense of safety and self-worth.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My person-centered approach places you at the heart of the therapeutic process. I believe that healing begins in a space where you feel genuinely heard, accepted, and respected. Person-centered therapy emphasizes your lived experience, values, and inner wisdom — allowing you to guide the direction and pace of your growth. In our work together, I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. This approach supports self-discovery, emotional healing, and a stronger sense of identity. Whether you're working through anxiety, trauma, or life transitions, person-centered therapy allows us to collaborate in a way that honors your strengths and supports lasting change.
