Gina Feletar
Hello! I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 27 years of experience in nursing. I provide compassionate, personalized mental health care for children, adolescents, and adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression and ADHD. My approach is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I believe mental health care should be a partnership where you feel heard, understood, and actively involved in your treatment. I combine evidence-based medication management with mindfulness, and other therapeutic approaches.
Beyond the diagnosis: thoughtful medication management with a whole-person perspective.
My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where we can work together to understand your challenges, build on your strengths, and develop a treatment plan that supports your emotional well-being and quality of life. Whether you're seeking support for the first time or looking for a fresh approach to your mental health care, I'm here to help you move forward with confidence.
First session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding the bigger picture of your mental health. We'll explore your current concerns, personal and medical history, past experiences with treatment, and what you hope to achieve. I encourage open conversation and questions, and we'll discuss treatment options together, including whether medication may be beneficial. I want you to leave our first session feeling heard, understood, and reassured that there is a path forward. You can expect an honest, thoughtful assessment, a clear understanding of our next steps, and a treatment plan that reflects your individual needs and goals. Most importantly, I hope you leave feeling empowered, optimistic, and confident that you've taken a meaningful first step toward improving your well-being.
Strengths
I believe the art of psychiatric care lies in balancing science with intuition and treating the whole person rather than simply a diagnosis. My extensive nursing background, advanced psychiatric training, and holistic, spiritually informed perspective allow me to approach each individual with both clinical expertise and a deeper understanding of the human experience. I prescribe thoughtfully and with intention, believing that the best treatment isn't always more medication, but finding what truly supports your well-being. I value individuality, personal beliefs, and the connection between emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who is ready to take an active role in their mental health and is genuinely motivated to create positive change. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, or simply feeling that something in your life is out of balance. You don't need to have all the answers, just a willingness to explore what may be holding you back and take meaningful steps forward. I work best with individuals who value a collaborative partnership, are open to honest communication, and recognize that medication is only one piece of the puzzle. Meaningful progress also requires self-awareness, consistency, and a commitment to your overall well-being. My goal is to work alongside you as we develop a thoughtful, individualized treatment plan that supports lasting improvement and a healthier, more balanced life.
Treatment methods
Motivational Interviewing
I believe meaningful change begins with understanding yourself and feeling empowered to make choices that support your well-being. I use motivational interviewing to help you explore your goals, identify what may be holding you back, and discover your own reasons for making positive changes, without pressure or judgment. Mindfulness encourages greater awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and physical responses, helping you become more present and less overwhelmed by everyday stressors. Supportive conversations are woven into our appointments, providing encouragement, perspective, and a space to discuss challenges as we evaluate your progress. These approaches complement medication management and help us develop a treatment plan that supports not only symptom relief, but your overall emotional well-being and personal growth.
